Burning a cd

The task is to get a cd-r to play in an older very picky car cd player (99 Honda Accord factory).

I have memorex and sony media availalbe atm.

I'm wondering what are some perferred options to increase my chances of the cd playing. I was thinking converting all to wav first. If this is a good idea any ideas on what programs would be the best? Also other than burning at a slow speed, anything else I can do to improve my chances of the cd working. ie burning apps, burning options, media that maybe better than what I have, etc.

I'm giving the cd to someone, so I can't do too much testing. I'm going to give it a good shot and just hope it works. If not it will be on them to figure something out.

if it makes any difference, store bought cds work fine.

use burrrn to burn the CDs www.burrrn.net
i strictly use Verbatim discs for all my burning
burn at a "slow" speed. I won't burn over 16x for CD-Rs and everyone ply flawlessly. some faster burns of mine aren't so lucky.

so let's recap. burrrn, quality media, slow speeds
