Portable DVD Player

i bought a portable dvd player Matsui MAT701 but whenever i try to press a button on the player all i get is invalid key message come up anyone got any ideas..

1. Switch on the DVD - without any DVD in it.
2. When "no disc" appears press the following sequence of numbers from the remote control: 9735
3. A menu appears.
3. With the help of the arrows and enter, choose the region that you'd like (0 is universal = All regions)


6th hit on Google for "Matsui MAT701 code" (or 1st hit with "Matsui Invalid Key")... I don't own one so can't verify but looks like others have used it successfully.
