Review: Rashomon (1950)
I decided to watch Rashomon after I finally found the DVD in FYE in my weekly trip to the mall. Once i got home i put it right into the DVD player and got watching.
The movie is about a Rape and a Murder, which were said to be done by a famous bandit named Tajomaru (Toshiro Mifune). The rape and murder were shown through the eyes of four people. The Bandit, The Woman, The Murdered Husband (Through use of a Medium), and The Woodcutter.
The film shows that Human nature is all about greed and selfishness, and if you are not selfish or at all greedy, you will die. Also that memory is not a reliable thing. Directed by the brilliant Japanese director Akira Kurosawa, and starring Toshiro Mifune, and Takashi Shimura, who have starred in countless Kurosawa films since this.
I loved this movie. I thought the cinematography was done incredibly well, and the acting was superb. Everything about this movie was amazing, it is truely a Kurosawa Film
9.8/10
I recommend this to people who love good thinking movies.
