I saw the Telesync [good quality, Centropy] , so I'll just wait for the SVCD (DVD-RIP) version.

But good work TEG!

Posted by reznor on 06-05-2002 11:33 AM:

Guess you're gonna have to wait a little bit longer VCDz. The DVD doesn't come out until August....

Anyways.. The sample looks and sounds good. Keep the screeners coming TEG.

Posted by VCDz on 06-05-2002 12:56 PM:

August.... thats not entirely true. Cause some group already released an SVCD (DVDrip) of LOTR (Lord of the rings) and it's not due out on DVD until August too. But anyways...

Posted by yojimbo on 06-05-2002 03:37 PM:

LOTR was an Academy Award screener. The next ceremony is not until next March.

Wow Skippy_2002ca, it must take some effort To Capitalize Every Word You Type.

I saw the sample, looks and sounds great. I was going to wait for a DVDRip, but this is till worth a download, even if you have the CTP release, if you like the movie enough!

Posted by MystLurker on 06-06-2002 12:41 AM:

To whomever said LOTR was a Acadamy Award Screener, you are both correct and wrong. There was a LOTR DVD screener released by TCF in like Dec-Jan, but there was also a RETAIL DVD rip also by TCF a few weeks ago. As the original screener was such high quality (probably the best ever, screener wise) the DVDRip was not widely distributed and so is less known. But there was a Retail DVD rip of DVD1 of the release of LOTR that is not available till August.

Haven't caught this screener yet, but caught a few other of TEG's screeners and I must say bravo, ur having an awesome month and don't let up. Your source is amazing.

lol "centercopy"

Posted by doobie on 06-06-2002 05:48 PM:

Video quality was good for VHS Screener, pretty typical. This is full screen version, with a little counter at the bottom, no big deal. No video glitches that I saw, audio was fine for me, but then again audio is sort of my weak point, I never notice audio problems unless it's like the movie is way out of sync for a while. But yea audio was good, picture was good. Quality overall was like typical VHS you'd go rent at blockbuster or whatever.

So here we go:
Video: 10
Audio: 10
Overall: 9.7

Gave it those cause I'm comparing it to other VHS Screeners released, and typical VCD quality. Nothing wrong with this, it's a solid release.

Also one thing...why do people bother posting anything in here if they havn't even watched the whole movie? Like tOny_bOgs' post on how he just watched the sample? I mean c'mon, if we wanted to know how the sample was we'd just look at the jpg's, or download the 10megs ourself, I mean nobody wants a review of the Sample right? And like this...

quote:
I saw the Telesync [good quality, Centropy] , so I'll just wait for the SVCD (DVD-RIP) version.

I mean wtf? How the hell does this have anything to do with this movie, besides how VCDz isn't going to even download it and watch it? It's like people wanna just post just to post, like they go for quanity over quality, when nobody really wants to hear what they gotta say unless it pertains to the movie. I mean I read VCDz reply and just though, "Oh, well that's nice VCDz, so how was the TEG Screener version?" heh...anyways, just my little bone to pick while I write my review.

Enjoy!

we were soldiers:
the quality on the sample pics. look good for this movie, haven't gotten a copy but the quality seem excellent.

wtf is centercopy?????????

Posted by DraglineX on 06-12-2002 01:50 AM:

Nice rip of a pretty damn good movie...i grabbed it even though i have the ctp release.

as far as bone pickin goes doobie...yours has to be among the most trivial that i have come accross. In the first place, the whole point of a sample is to help us decide whether or not we would like to grab the release. A "review" of the sample is merely an extension of its usage and is in fact informative. I personally have d/led movies based on someone telling me that they saw the sample and it was good. Especially when i get it off an xdcc bot where the sample is bundled with one of the discs, or perhaps an ftp where the sample wasnt upped( it actually happens quite often). As far as someone posting their intentions on whether they will d/l a release or not...well thats their perogotive. I for one dont mind reading a short sentence on the subject...beats a long diatribe against it. ;Þ
btw...how does two 10s average out to 9.7? if there was another criteria that detracted the .3 then perhaps you should have explained it.
And that is a bone...picked
