Banning People?

There seems to be always shouting on here about banning people (in most threads eventualy), has it always been this way or did you get problems in the past thus making things so strict on here.

May be just me but at times it can seem very high strung or is just because people go shouting out their reviews just by making judgement from a sample or looking at something on a pc screen? instead of converting to a dvd to watch on their tv which seems to make a big difference.

Basically, people can't follow simple rules. We have specific rules on not requesting "sources" for downloads, asking questions that have been answered a million times before, starting your own movie comments/review threads cos you have something that isn't listed and finally flaming without a damn good reason... Other than those particular "offences" we're not bad.

Oh, unless you're unlucky enough to bump into a Mod who's not had his afternoon nap and feels like banning somebody - I've been there

do you ban the specific ip or the whole block ??

On the forum, just the user account gets banned - if you're stuggling to get into the IRC channel, make sure port 113 is unblocked on your firewall and you have Ident enabled in your client.

In my experience people are constantly asking for it. Especially in the comments threads.

Can't argue with you there. People complain too much, it gets really annoying. They don't appreciate what groups are putting out.

It's easy to get banned if you put shit in the comments threads, this is enforced pretty strictly but the rest of the forum is fairly relaxed... Just nothing that can get VCDQ into legal trouble and no unwarranted/outright flaming (flaming "with feedback" is allowed though )

forums that attract alot of retarded people + no moderation = Worthless. Its atleast marginally less retarded how it is. We dont have alot of rules, reading up on them and not breaking any should be quite easy!

Too bad people fail to do this on a regular basis.

I've been apart of the scene for years, I just recently joined Vcdquality, but have read posts on here for a long time. Believe what you will.
