READ THIS TO AVOID BEING BANNED
Its letterboxed, custom menu, and the video has some nasty interlacing. Pretty fair quality other than that. Sound in some spots is score only, but that might be intended.
v:6
a:7
m:?
Havent finished the film yet, but I doubt it will hold up against Carpenter's classic. Not terrible for modern horror.
v-7 bit interlaced
a-6 being a WKPrnt im not sure whats missing but its good for whats there.
m-8 Its not the Classic..but its definitely Rob Zombie
I guess the big question is...is there anything missing..guess well have to wait a few days to find that out.
Property of Dimension Films at the top but not too large. As stated before some pretty bad interlacing. Colors are bright and vivid but pic is slightly blurred, but who am I to complain about a movie that isn't released in theatres for another 5 days. Good jobs and thanks FUA for a watchable copy of this great film so early.
V:7
A:8
m:?
does anyone know if this is the version before or after the re-shoots happened?
wow, this release was very interesting,
V= 7.5
A= 8
M= 8
i really liked it, was a bit interlaced and had a few scenes where the screen was wavy but it straightened up pretty fast
very watchable and great early wp.
ar was a bit off, and of course letterboxed with custom menu thing was not that bad., but its not a dvd retail , its workprint, so exceptions can be made!

One can assume its before. At the start of the disc, when the Halloween title comes up, they dated it 05/18/07

Since this workprint is dated a month or two before the re-shoots, i'm curious to see how different this version of the film is.
This is a very cool release.
I've read that they even re-shot a new ending, so this might be completely different than the one we'll see in the release version.

sure enough
video - 9
audio 6
movie - 7 hopefully theatre rls does have a different ending as was stated earlier.
oh and good call...there is now an mvs. Although no mention of it being a Proper or any different than this release in terms of extra or less footage. *had to make that clear to some.
Re: sure enough
quote:mVs is XViD with proper IVTC applied.

mVs is XViD with proper IVTC applied.
This "DVDR" is actually SVCD with hard-coded telecine @ 29.97fps with 48kHz audio muxed to DVD format hence the interlacing that people are experiencing..
Pretty good all round when you IVTC it...

Let's see, dvd quality before it's even out. This is all I need to know, I'm sure someone will shortly compare what is or isn't in the release, but I'm good. I've already seen the mVs release and I'm not interested in seeing the property tag blocked out. It ruins it for me, but you guys decide for yourself. Good and fast release guys, thank you.
V-9
A-9
M-7
Looks pretty good to me. I lopped off the menu and the 15 minutes or so of grey screen at the end.
For a WP
V-8
A-7
M-? haven't watched yet
I wonder if this is a re-code of 2 avi files. I say this because about half way through there is a scene involving mcdowell outside a school or something and for a split second a part of it overlaps.
Just a thought.
Based on workprint
V = 7
A = 5 (The volume drops now and again, and some effects are missing)
M = 5 (It seemed badly edited, whether its because of what it is, but it did seem to jump from scene to scene quite quickly at times)
I just got through watching it.
V: 7.5 - I watched it on a DVD player and widescreen HDTV. The picture was sharp but it seemed dark with muted colors. The aspect ratio didn't seem quite right.
A: 8 - Adequate stereo. Volume seemed to fluctuate some.
M: 6.5 - No match for the original. It seemed about half prequel and half a remake and the original doesn't need remaking. I'm interested to see how it does at the box office.
V - 8 Muted color and dark scenes
A - 9 YUMMMEH
M - 9
For a internal this was by far the best one this year. A great remake done classic Zombie style just wonder if there will be unrated version later. Zombie seemed to pull back a bit.
This version was much scarier and bloddier than the original and that will pacifiy the masses.
Loved it thank so much!
The Actual release is different.. Some of the scenes were placed in different spots in the movie... The Whole Redneck Rape Scene isn't in the Release .. Instead there is a added scene of how Myers escapes ... The Ending is also quite different...
It's like watching 2 different movies to me... I'd like to see a directors cut with everything spliced together that would be nice....
