its the same sh1t.. same thing... audio sounds horrible. video is overcropped but its watchable, just wait for the R1 , the best thing to do..

Posted by A_T on 02-22-2008 11:15 PM:

Why did they bother? Yet another one using the bad audio source.

yep just watched a sample.
audio is the same as BaLD. the sync is also a bit off, not as bad as BaLD's but far from perfect

V = 7
A = 3

probably watchable but i'll wait

v8
a7 (still some very minor sync issues)
m 6 ish

its pretty obvious that the r5 dvd9 is the source of the bad audio... russian stusios rushing to get it out.
someone should sync the wp audio to it, if its complete.

ERRRRRRR ... did you even bother looking at this release? ..... i've flicked through it to the places that gave me concerns on the `Bald` release and everything is spot on.

v 8
a 8 m ?

the workprint audio sucked too

I'LL ASK YA ALL AGAIN! .....Have any of you that have posted actually looked at this release? .... It's not the same audio as balds release and a lot better than 'Enable' release .... it's not dvd perfect but it is what you expect of a R5 release and you'll not get better till theres a dvdrip release

Posted by mixtrixx on 02-23-2008 01:42 AM:

LOL @ Britnasty

"the workprint audio sucked too"

The Woekprint Audio has by far been the best "Crisp" Audio source available so far. Compare it to Balds Audio Source, which had a Dull Sound due to the lack of Treble.
Perhaps you should consider trading in the Mono Channel Flintstones Style Hi-Fi System if You really think the Workprint Audio was that bad.

Posted by bernash on 02-23-2008 01:46 AM:

thats shocking release, audio is terrible. video is overcropped , worst case watchable

a=2
v=7
m= wait for a better release

Posted by KnightOfTears on 02-23-2008 04:16 AM:

Not sure what everyone is looking for from an R5, but this is by far the best one of the many released...including the Universal DVD-R. Everything is in sync, and the picture is more than viewable. Audio isn't bad unless you expect 5.1, then you will be disappointed. for the average movie watcher this is perfectly fine.

V-8
A-7.5
M- haven't watched yet

Audio is horrible. The volume and sound channels seem to change at random. Video is nice and crisp, I didn't notice overcropping but I barely watched it and have a rather untrained eye so I'll just have to assume it's there.

V - 8
A - 4

Sync is better but that's all - still sounds horrible.

Sound is fine, watched the whole thing, and who ever said the WP sound sucked, is in denial, I played it through the stereo and t.v. it was loud and strong.

This release is good!

8/8/9 great movie and a great way for Stallone to end this character.

The movie length on this release is 1:22:23 (82 minutes) but on IMDb it says the movie is 91 minutes.

Posted by denmat on 02-25-2008 01:19 AM:

ok, first things first. The sound on this is indeed horrible, i extracted it in wave format and imported to a sound editing software for a bit of work. I gave up and that does not happen often, i can tell you. The extracted audio was even worse than the original. Anyway converted to dvd to see if it was as bad on the TV - surround system as it sounded on the pc and the simple answer is NO its not. It sounds pretty damn good on the Tele, and through the sound system, considering what it sounds like on the pc

So in conclusion this release is not as bad as it first seems. The sync seems fine from what i gathered.

V=8.5 (crisp and clear good R5)
A=7.0 (sound is poor on pc but much better when converted to dvd and played on TV. Which is why it gets a 7)
m=6.5 (not bad, and not for the faint hearted, plenty of gore)

Video has some deinterlacing problems. Watch opening/closing credits to see what I mean.

Audio is better than the *NUKED* BaLD and ENABLE releases but still has issues.

Movie is good ol' fashioned action but with a gore factor not seen in previous Rambo films.

Also, there is a DVDRiP out. The audio is superb for this release. :: NO LINKS TO TORRENTS ::

Posted by xPLaR on 02-27-2008 03:01 AM:

whoever is saying the audio is good should watch the full video and not the sample. near the beginning when it is raining and the girl is talking to stallone you can hear how bad it really is. it also changes pitch constantly through the whole movie. still perfectly watchable but dont make a permanent copy.

the video is very nice but the audio is just about as bad as everyone says is it... And I just got done with a bad burn of it so I'll wait until the release of this on DVD which by now is in less than two weeks anyway... I can wait...
