CBR = Constant Bit Rate

VBR = Variable Bit Rate

You use CBR on VCD's

You use VBR with 3 pass or prefferably 4 pass on SVCD

Reason picture looks bad is because it was encoded in CBR most likely

What do you mean what kind of junk is that? Do you really want to watch the movie, not knowing what they're saying in lots of scenes? I guess if you're just getting it for the nudity, then understanding the dialogue isn't as important, but at least I'd like to watch it for real...

I'm surprised anything would be nuked for CBR. There used to be tons of accepted CBR rips. Everyone bitched about them, but they didn't get nuked. Bad resolution would be another matter...

its not a joke at all. subtitles are needed in movies like this. I wouldnt watch this movie if it didnt have subtitles...thatd be useless...sadly, this release also seems useless, bad quality.

groups seem pretty dumb lately...

Hopefully another group capable of encoding will consider RE-proppering this propper with subtitles, 224kbps sound, and decent 4 pass VBR video...

are u dumb? this is vbr

Posted by sweetsour on 11-22-2002 05:39 AM:

But considering how unbelievably bad so many recent releases have been, I wouldn't be too surprised if the next Femme Fatale release was some noname group putting out a proper, saying "hey, we have subtitles and 224kbps audio", but all they did was re-encode the divx.

I wonder why noone knows shit here and have so big mouths.
U guys can't tell the difference between cbr and vbr, its easy to check.
Also u can't check sound bitrate.
Wtf u doing here heh

Posted by sickdick on 11-22-2002 06:32 AM:

lol guys, get your heads out of u'r asses,
i mean u have 100% not seen sample, or don't know what u'r talking about
1.bitrate viewer shows its VBR
2. nfo is fucked up, the movie is 224kbit sound
3. quality is very decent imho for a 109min movie

heh, if u got nothing to do, go jackoff, instead of making a jack out of u'rself in public :p
learned a new word cbr today and decided to use it 3x to memorize?
learn wanking, and practice it 3x too ^to master :)

Actually this was one of the few times I posted and didn't watch the sample or the movie first before posting.... So I haven't seen either yet.... Posted in response to others who I believed to have viewed the film first.. If they can't tell the difference between CBR / VBR or 224kbps sound then that's beyond me...

So IS THE FILM encoded in CBR or VBR...?? did DCI encode in 224kbps sound?? lastly if the rip was encoded in VBR then is the picture quality as bad as some people are making it out to be? I'm not going to waste time with watching sample/movies from unknown groups that have no history....

Damn, this is a sorry thread. I've watched a chunk of CD2 and this is excellent quality. And what I remember of CD1 from last week, there IS a lot of non-English language dialogue that needs to be subtitled here.

I may write more after I've watched the whole movie this weekend, but I thought I'd post a simple, fucking THANK YOU to yet another unappreciated (new) group.

I was happy with this watched it, Even though the movie is a horrible plot to start with bein I'm 100% English. Thank god for the subs >:\

No flaw in video at all looks like your average SVCD rip

Posted by psychoace on 11-22-2002 05:10 PM:

Ok sorry took so long to feedback

True subs are needed in certain scenes but guess what making another 1.6gig download sucks. Why couldn't they made some script that forces you to put the mpeg on your hd (or if you still had the original bin) and it formated it with the new sub's and let you reburn it with nero or whatever software you use? A 10mb fix or something is better then redownloading the whole movie.

kudos to you, sweetsour, and anyone else who knows wtf they're talking about . this and the other DCi related threads are perfect indications of the type of stupidity that runs rampant on this board (ppl making comments based on .nfo files or what someone said on an irc chan). it also clearly shows how group members (crazy et al) can hate on a competitor. you lost, grow up and accept it.

quality was good. subs were needed. props to DCi/ViTE

because you can not do that with svcd, you HAVE to reencode the video to hardburn the subs (since softburn are not compatible with all players), and just imaging reencoding the already sucky videocd svcd, its like recieving a fax and writing a note on it and faxing it back .... just think how ugly that would look...

Posted by DividedSky on 11-23-2002 02:19 AM:

Funnily enough, the nuke explanation on nforce is something like, "no need for proper just release subpack". I guess whoever made that call has no idea how SVCDs work.

I hope that enough sites didn't nuke it, so that it'll eventually trickle down to people with no access, like me... So far all I see is the bad VideoCD release.

Posted by baseballplyr7 on 11-23-2002 02:22 AM:

it just hit theaters and theres a DVD already. must be bootlegd shit.

dividedsky:
you are right, that's a bullshit reason
you can't release a subpack for svcd, its not divx/xvid
need to reencode the thing
