So who was actually the closest to all the predictions????
USA Weekend Box-Office Estimates
5/30-6/1
Rank Title Weekend Total Gross
1 Finding Nemo (2003) 70.6m 70.6m
2 Bruce Almighty (2003) 35.6m 135.0m
3 Italian Job, The (2003) 19.3m 19.3m
4 Matrix Reloaded, The (2003) 15.0m 232.0m
5 Daddy Day Care (2003) 6.8m 82.0m
6 X2 (2003) 5.0m 199.0m
7 Wrong Turn (2003) 5.0m 5.0m
8 In-Laws, The (2003/I) 3.6m 14.4m
9 Down with Love (2003) 1.5m 17.2m
10 Lizzie McGuire Movie, The (2003) 1.0m 39.2m
Pretty Close Except wrong turn did no where near as good as some predicted (cheesy horror movies never make much). And italian job did pretty good.
I'll be doing the stats when I get home. Just a note, I'll be calculating the movies that you did include in your Top 5, regardless of if they made the Top 5 or not...and I'll take 10% off from myself for putting #5 as The Wrong Turn and Daddy Day Care as 9 Million, to penalize myself.
man was i off will have to refine my thinking for this coming weekends numbers
Predict the Box Office Results - 5/30/03 - 6/1/03
This Week's Rank (the math may not be perfect, but the rank is pretty clear...Notes: Don't over guess movies opening in about 1,500 Theaters...and always keep last week's box office winners in mind too...(basically, there was no way the matrix could have grossed 40 million this week, or any way that down with love could have grossed 20 million...)
1. Petrocs - 75.84 % Correct
2. MacMall88 - 75.75 % Correct
3. Shorty6Pac - 70.11 % Correct
4. Semaj8686 - 64.53 % Correct
5. The Who - 51.73 % Correct
6. Mystic Slippers - 48.38 % Correct
TEAM: 74.78 % Correct
*I took 10 % off my score of 84.20 % Correct, since I predicted Daddy Day Care and Wrong Turn tied, and I realized that wasn't very fair...74.20 % Correct*
wooo hoooo 3rd
Ill put in actual numbers next time to make it fair i feel that my 3rd is tainted by just putting in ranges
that would be...er...nice.
