sync

Can anyone confirm this has sync issues?

Posted by Objectivist Seal Hunter on 11-09-2008 10:24 PM:

When I first saw this release I read it as a TS, glad to see I was wrong! Lol. This has been released quicker than expected and somewhat reminds me of Balds Saw IV TC last year.

V-8 (Not too sharp, good colors, a bit block or pixely)
A-9 (Very loud and clear)
M-? (Still undecided)

So is this release actually out of sync? I've heard from a others that its not...

Posted by shikamaru on 11-10-2008 12:26 AM:

V - 6 (clear, but dark)

A - 8 (not out of sync)

M - 6 (this series is getting tired)

Posted by David Cameron on 11-10-2008 12:48 AM:

Its not amazingly out of sync and its not out of sync for the whole movie, seems to come and go. Its enough to be annoying though which is a shame because otherwise its a very good Telecine.

Shouldn't be too hard to fix.

Posted by shadowsniper on 11-10-2008 01:05 AM:

v;7.5 - Generally not bad, quite good colours but quite blocky as well, probably to be expected though on a TC of a very dark movie.

a; 6 - Quite loud & clear but does drift slightly in & out of sync. It's never that far out though or for very long & does correct itself quite quickly. Wasn't too distracting for me.

m; 7 - Not the best movie ever but was still quite enjoyable. Was better than Saw 4 & provided some more answers/background info.

V-8.5
A-7
M-8 (as a Saw fan)

Yeah, it's out of sync at some times but it doesn't affect viewing, at least for me. Video quality is excellent in my opinion, could have passed as a dvd screener.

Posted by opogon on 11-10-2008 03:15 AM:

How bad is the synch issue? Anybody tried to fix it yet, and if so what correction did you use?

Posted by Lagwagon on 11-10-2008 04:08 AM:

AVIMux , -75ms fixes it.

Posted by Objectivist Seal Hunter on 11-10-2008 02:55 PM:

To fix the sync issue use AVI-Mux and set it to -71.

Edit: Didn't see the post above mine. :P

V: 8
A: 7
M: 8

Didn't really notice the sync issue and think the nuke "out of sync throughout" is wrong. I enjoyed it.

Posted by Ekno on 11-10-2008 06:49 PM:

Don't bother getting the sync fix, it doesn't fix it.
[ NUKE ] [ Saw.V.SYNCFiX.TC.XviD-obamaROCKS ] [ doesnt.fully.fix.sync.due.to.changing.sync.eg.24m30s ]

[ NUKE ] [ Saw.V.TC.XviD-COALiTiON ] [ out.of.sync.throughout.obamaROCKS.syncfix.doesnt.fully.fix.sync ]

Posted by opogon on 11-10-2008 07:01 PM:

Thanks Lagwagon and OSH. Will split the diff and try -.73.

Grabbed "Saw-V-TC-XVID---STG" and sync was fixed. Colors a bit sharper too.

Minor synch problems.

But who the fuck cares?
What a stupid movie.

Honesty, wrap this piece of shit up, it's done.

Very dark, SEEMS like a TC.
6/9/5.

Dumb movie.

M5 - Seriously its done now - Hostel series is better

Posted by Ripper on 11-11-2008 06:49 PM:

Stg version is fine sync fixed taken from there nfo, hope it helps people who grabbed it and are on caps

Not too much but i had to resync the audio and set it to -200ms to get it to sync nicely
Has for the video i have slightly brightened it up and add some more colour.
Also used a video noise reduction filter to smooth it ou tand a contour filter to add extra sharpness.

overall 8.5 -9 for both video and sound

Movie was ok but the ending was a bit strange, russian audio at credits

V 6.5
A 7
M 6

it has been clear since saw 3 it would last 2 trilogies, aka until saw 6, the problem is the lack of material to still work with, i seriously see no out to continue the story, the 1 out is saw V, and what is used there but not elsewhere.?

Although Freddy and Jason both will never match the original Saw, they might overcome it even with the over and over again sequels.

Posted by Iammyself on 11-13-2008 07:54 AM:

STG rls is fine so far here, nice to see TC's coming out again, R5s took that over for too long imo...

im watching, saw 5 the TC vs TS, but better color and contrast

i dont care if it is DVDR or not... Saw V = a continuation, yet better than Saw IV
