[NUKE] [3min.missing.footage.at.36min.23sec]
[MODNUKE] [missing.footage_upscaled.from.xvid_stolen.from.torrents]

from nfo updated:

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008)
http://akas.imdb.com/title/tt0421715/
NTSC DVDSCR
AC3 2.0
(occasional screener footer message)

Note:

The dvdscr source itself (not retail remember) has a glitch and a tiny (not 3min) missing footage around 36 mins, you can nuke away but you wont get other source anyway. N'joy!

Posted by Dankbuds on 12-30-2008 07:34 PM:

(36min 30 sec into CD1) Video glitches that relates to missing scenes, not enough to ruin the movie. Nice attempt overall, worth the watch IMO if you can't wait for a glitch free copy.

As DVDSCR

V-7
A-7
M-8.5

There appears to be the same source floating around I've seen 3 releases over the past 2 days or so DEViSE.XviD , Alliance.dvdr and now this from xSCR all of the have the same glitching/jumping/missing scenes.

There area couple places (2-3) in the movie like the 36min 30sec CD1 glitch I just can't remember. Thats just the part that I have memorized so I can compare sources.

Is the missing 3 min important to the plot or story?

This started life as The.Curious.Case.Of.Benjamin.Button.Dvd.Screener.2008.Bloodshot
On Noobnova of all places.
7/7/will watch at weekend (Got the devise version)

This was out several days ago. I'm surprised it took this long for someone to convert it to xvid.

I'll stick with the original.

No rating .. stolen source? Good movie though. Happy New Year !

Didn't get the Devise version but around 36:20 into the movie it gets a bit weird. I'll wait on this one.

V - 8
A - 8
M - ??? Looks interesting from copy I got will wait for a complete copy to be released.

Some history:

Bloodshot's first release in .mov format and Devise's reincode of Bloodshot in xvid format both had scenes missing. If you watch from 36:22 these two versions quickly skip scenes from 1.under the table to 2.the hospital to 3.Benjamin’s bedroom.

The missing scenes here total about 3 minutes. An old guy explains three instances where he was struck by lightning. This is a significant comedic part of the film, but not crucial to the storyline.

In addition, Devise's version is missing a short section that was in the Bloodshot version at 1:21:53. The Devise release is missing 5 seconds in which Benjamin says: “And in May of 1945, when i was 26 years old, I came home.” It is a very short section that is missing where the audio changed tracks from 1 to 2 on the Bloodshot version.

Devise's version with all of these multiple missing scenes was then converted to DVD by SceneReleases.

Bloodshot's version required switching to audio track 2 in VLC player at 1:21:53, otherwise the audio dropped out. No audio problem, however, when Bloodshot's .mov version is played in Quicktime.

Unfortunately, this xSCR version also uses the Bloodshot/Devise versions and therefore has the same missing scenes.

The 3 minutes of missing footage is vital to the story. It's a long movie, but none of it is filler.

As to the claim that Paramount released a screener to academy members with three very noticeable (complete car crashes) missing minutes... I doubt that very much. Not with the millions of dollars that an academy award brings to the table.

If it's between blaming Paramount or blaming the original source of this release (nobody p2p rippers Bloodshot), you better believe my money's on the latter. This is just a garbage rip of a perfectly good screener.

As to where we go from here? Hopefully this will get cammed at some point and they can swap out the cammed footage for the missing 3 minutes.

About 06:50 minutes into the second CD, it skips again. I don't know how many minutes are missing.

V: 7.5 - due to glitch
A: 8 - nice
M: N/A - Waiting for a fixed copy

What, you got a problem with cams? Believe me, I despise cams just as much as the next guy, but, if given the choice between a good looking release with missing footage and that same release with 3 minutes of cam footage- I will gladly live with 3 minutes of garbage video just so I know what's going on.

That being said, this discussion is pretty much moot, as 'The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button PROPER DVDSCR XviD-AzNiNVASiAN' was just released with a different source.

It has it's issues (washed out/right channel audio keeps dropping) but... with a little work, someone should be able to take the 3 minutes from that and splice it into this.

I hear the quality is terrible (but that doesn't matter if they can take the missing parts and add them to another release), and it still has video glitches.

Why would anyone despise cams without them we'd have no Ts's and fork all to watch most of the year and as for your "New source" I don't even want to get started on that can of worms.

I've looked at a few versions (quite a few floating around as mentioned, no idea what source is whose) -- anyhow, the frame rate seems off on all the releases. Like either an encode of a top field first when it should be bottom field or something or got the 3:2 wrong. Video is just jerky - both on PC and standalone.

Unhappy The Curious Case of Benjamin Button *xViD* - DVD SCR - xSCR

Very watchable, although parts are missing at (3) seperate occasons. Real bummer because this was a good movie.
I had to get the AzNiNVASiAN release just to watch the missing parts of the movie.

Video: 7, If we are going to rate this movie on the overall release.

Audio: 7.5

Movie: 9

Gets a "E" for effort

Anyone know how to get the missing audio back at 1:21.53 when burning to disk ?
I watched it with Quicktime and had no problems but the audio went off when i tried watching it on DVD.

good film.

I'm not really a critic and am happy to have got a watchable copy so early so i give this:

V 9
A 7 (because of the 1:21.53 issue)
M 8
