There aren't any screener messages.... However.....

This 3month pre is similar to the star wars AOTC pre that TCF released... The movie is missing the subs that were previously included in the film/dvd screener...

That being the first set of subs shown when bond is surfing in ..
also two sets of subs at the north korean compound... one for location of compound... other set during the small kickboxing scene...

Might be missing more subs than those that I remember offhand..

The subs scene in this movie are longer than the Star Wars: AOTC scene which was relatively short so it all depends on what you can tolerate. I'd stick with the DVD Screener for this one, that version barely had any watermarks besides a few TINY pop-ups.

Ya, i ment last UTi I d/l sorry...
Subterano.LiMiTED.DVDRip.SVCD-UTi ,had screener messages

Damn, missing the korean subs, that sucks....

pre-retail

if you guys are questioning pre-retail. Dont question: it is. There is no watermarks etc. And to comment on the comment its to early to be pre-retail because its 3 months early, your wrong. If you work in a pressing plant, you can get the disks before they are silk screened and packaged. Uti apparently has a killer connection. More props to them.

Posted by pHo on 03-07-2003 10:50 AM:

if its missing the subs, then i expect the disc is one of the ones that uses switched subs, and then the player turns them on when theres non-english speak, and turns them off afterwards.

its basically a cheaper way of using the same print in other countries , rather than burning the subs in loads of different languages to the film itself.

In other words, softcoded subtitles I think that's the term you were looking for pHo. Image quality is good but even though the source is retail, the dvd mastering is kind of... flawed. I can't quite describe it but you'll have to see it to know what I mean. 8/10/8

Thumbs up pre-retail or not

First off, MAD props to UTi on a great release! as always your quality of rips is top notch.

Now.. this lame kiddies talking about pre-retail or not, and the tiny person talking about "is there screener messages on the film" Of course its pre-retail! Take in consideration that UTi is known as the gods of proper lableling. Also that pre-retails dont all have to come from blockbusters or Hollywood videos. There are plenty other sources and from the looks of it these guys found a nice one. As for the screener messages.... if you cant downloaded to check for your self, then you shouldnt even be making a comment!

Good jobs on the almost 4 month pre guys, groups like you and TCF and TDi are the ones keeping this alive! You guys should whip out with the dvdr to put an end to these lamers!

Man, this is a very nice rip of a semi-decent movie. Having viewed the sample, I reckon the picture quality is slightly better then the TCF DVD Screener (Which I gave 9/10/7 btw). Very sharp and very clear.
The audio, seems very good, but because I have no plans to download the full release due to the situation with the subs, I cant really judge it fully due to the sample containing one of the 'quieter' action scenes where Bond confronts the guy in that Cuban Surgery.
Decent movie overall I think, good to watch when your bored.

I think i see what you're talking about.. interlacing maybe

I'll say one thing is weird... there aren't any subs on cd 1 at the begining yet some subs are there on cd3 ... damn weird...

nope wasn't looking for any term, switchable/switched subs are as legit as hardcoded/softcoded, but it generally applies to SVCD.

Posted by [LdFg] on 03-08-2003 02:16 PM:

it sais nuked by group request on nforce. Can anyone confirm this?

Posted by BountyWarrior on 03-08-2003 03:55 PM:

Looking at NFOrce, its not this release that is nuked, but the DVDr release of the Movie.

Posted by B18C5 on 03-08-2003 08:09 PM:

The DVDR was undersized, it didn't include subs, the sample was from Inspector Gadget 2. That's why it was nuked. I don't know if there is anything else wrong or if it contains any extras but I'll know by the end of the day.
