Props to FTF for finialy puttin out a REpack. This just made this release much better then the other one that was released. Still the fact that its a WP and not a SC but what can ya do, its a free movie, i just wish it was the correct movie.

Just what MM ordered-- FTF's was the better version, a decent screener, but it puked out 1/2way through CD2 (fast forwarding through the climax). If that's fixed, then I'm going to celebrate by taking out my favorite hunting knife and carving up some Christmas turkey. Except this ain't Christmas. And I don't expect to see any turkeys. Bwaahhaaaa.

Only Fixed

Alright, FTF get props for fixing their mistake on CD2, but I still wont waste cds on this rls, mainly because it's still a workprint with crappy quality. I would rather wait for an *actual* release of the movie that's watchable. Many groups out there have potential to rls good qual shit, so i'll bide my time.

Are you people blind, or simply talking out of your newbie arses? I'm watching CD2 right now-- it's a FINE release, I wish ALL new movies had this level of quality. Great work, props to FTF. Please ignore the pre-judging lamers.

So were the problems properly fixed?

If so then im sure it makes for a very nice release even for a WP. Anybody they says the quality is shit needs to look again, if the picture and sound are like most od cd1 from the first release then its definatly worth the download.
Again if the problems were fixed, then im very glad to see a repack of this.

Edit: heh brr8760, guess that answered my question.
Edit2: is there a difference in the CD1s?

Well, everyone has their own opinion about releases. I think this *workprint* is bad quality, and brr8760 thinks its great. By the way, just because you live on the VCDQ boards and other people have lives, don't think that you are superior brr8760. Just because you have more posts here, don't think you rule the scene. No offence, but the boards are for the quality of movies, not about who's a newbie and who's not.

^0M3N ---> according to the nfo, CD1 was fixed as well (although I didn't have any problems with it personally that I remember)---> "The last release of this had some problems; the encoding for the end of cd1 and most of cd2 was "messed up", making it unwatchable. So enjoy the fully fixed/working version of this summer thriller."

Yea i read the nfo and i personally didn't see much wrong with end of CD1, apart from a few glitches now and then in the last say 5 odd minutes.
Which is why i asked, no point waisting bw on CD1 if its the same thing.

If they went through the trouble to reencode the whole thing, why not rip it to SVCD??

because the source diden't warent svcd. put simply vcd is vhs quality with digital sound. svcd is dvd quality. so the truth is there is no point in encodeing to svcd when the source is of lesser quality then a normal dvd. it does nothing but make the files you have to d/l bigger. it would be nice if everyone would take thier blinders off and relize this

PizzaTheHut, high res DV sources can make good for SVCD encodes, as we all saw with you know who.

masta_spl, would you rather not have it? or perhaps have a repack the next day that isn't properly fixed?

Can someone who has seen both this release and the Legion TS tell me if they are from the same source, or if the Legion release is the theatre final (aside from the changed title)? I haven't sat down and watched either one yet (just got the repack tonight) and I didn't know if burning both of them was a waste of 2 perfectly fine cd-rs.

I have not read all the posts, but I must say, with all the bitching of people saying why bother re-pack this film... I personally think its great FTF are repacking it, I want a copy... and basically they dont have to do it if they dont want to, there are so many ungrateful people out there, are u actually paying for the movie??? NO??? well stop ya bitching OH and the thing that makes me laugh is if you hate this film so much why are u bothering to check these posts and writing ur useless crap??

This repack has nice quality. Not the best I've seen, but watchable. However, the reason this release sucks BALLS is because it is a WORKPRINT. This should be NUKED for mislabel; FTF still doesn't know how to label? Anyway, I suggest you wait for a better release if you haven't watched this already. (This release has a different ending than the OFFICIAL release in theatres, so it's worth waiting for an OFFICIAL release)

halloween review:

Picture- not too bad, the color isnt that good but its very watchable, towards the end of the first disk the screen got a little screwed up but then it fixed itself, overall id give the picture quality a 6/10

Audio- I thought the audio was excellent, all the voices could be heard and no words missed, I give the audio a 9/10 I think it was that good

Movie- first let me say I thought the first halloween was one of the best horror movies ever, but after 2 and so on they just seem repetitive and stupid and not fun. I saw this one in the theatre with my friend, this is a workprint becuase the in the beginign of this release it starts with a family video and gets close up on a young mike myers eyes and in the theatrical version it just starts with jamie lee talking about the hall, also the ending was changed in the theatrical version, in this one it ends with the lady looking down the hole to his room and he grabs her... end credits, and in the theatrical version it ends with the police/doctors wheeling mike myers burnt body into the coroners office in the hospital and then, the coroner goes to unzip the bodybag revealing his burnt up face and then his eye opens up..end credits, those were the only things I noticed from both versions that were diffrent. overall this movie sucked, I didnt like how how stupid some things seemed like int he beginig witht he security guard tripping over the body"why didnt he see it when he walked into the room, or looked at the ceiling and saw mike myers hanging on the pole, also the dialogue was terrible and bustah rhymes was so stupid but provided the comedy in the film , I think his only good acting role was in finding forrester. I loved the original halloween but I can only recomend this film to people who like the halloween series past the second one and still think this series has more to give, I dont, If you want to see a decent horror movie go see jeepers creepers, that was one of the good horror movies in the past 5 years and if you want a horror comedy go see jason x " I think the producers of that film knew they had crap on there hands and decided to make it as funny as possible. I give this film a 5/10 although I liked the idea of a web broadcast just not how they pulled it off and why they didnt elaborate more with the charectar deckard and why he didnt go meet the girl at the end or maybe thats for the 9th movie, also I dont understand how a person can survive so many times and producers and studios think they can make money off a charecter that shoud have stayed dead after the first outing, mike myers is a human psycho not a superhuman mutant or demon, its time for freddy vs jason to save the horror movie busiiness
