Few of my mates have seen this. Said it's awesome but don't go to this movie thinking you're going to see another Human Traffic (incidentally the best british club culture movie ever made folks).

If you want a movie on club culture, are not from the UK and wanna FUCKING AVE IT BRUV! Get Human Traffic.

Not seen this release yet, but thought i would point all you non-UK folk in the right direction before you all start screaming "Eww! WTF is this shitty movie? I've never heard of it!" etc.

But yes, from the folks i know that have seen it, everyone said it's absolutely brilliant. I'll be seeing this one in the theatre, so should you (if you can).

errmmm

this film is mislabelled and should be PETE TONG not peter tong.
as in the uk "pete tong" is cockney rhyming slang for "wrong"
LMAO

6/7/7
House music sucks, and the rave scene is dead (at least in Toronto), but the guy who did FUBAR did this and its pretty dam funny.

Posted by kelvin_r6 on 06-04-2005 04:37 PM:

lol ive had this copy for about 3 weeks... me thinks they have stolen someone's source

::EDIT:: WOAH!! You're so 1337? Now, where's your comment/rating for this release? What, you didn't read the posting rules? Farewell... COCKBADGER! - NS::

Posted by Mystic Slippe on 06-04-2005 06:03 PM:

House music is very much alive and well in the UK.

The clubbing scene in general is stronger than it has ever been before. In the states the scene is growing bigger by the day.

'House culture' is a global thing. If it was mainstream in Canada and a phase that's apparently 'died', there will always be the underground scene. And that's what's happened in the UK when superclubs went mainstream.

This movie is about a man and his awesome legacy. A true legacy. It's not like the classic Human Traffic at all. And i for one can't wait to see it, i've heard it's brilliant (even if the trailer for it does make it look shit).

Posted by HaLiKuS on 06-04-2005 06:40 PM:

The 'House culture' is still alive in the UK, but raves are essentially illegal in Toronto now (1990's venues), wich killed the scene. http://www.canoe.ca/Health0006/01_drugs.html
I raved from 1992 - 1998, and the scene is in such a sad, sketchy state here. They can only be held in a liscened (non-smoking) bar with the odd DJ such as Andy C spinning in a concert hall, but thats about it. And Human Traffic is a "good one brother!".
6/7/7, and you don't have to be a clubber to like this.

been waiting to see this sound ok but pic seems a tad too red but still well watchable

pic: 6
sound:6
movie: anticipated 8

quite good quality for a british movie. living in the uk, it is an absolute bitch to cam stuff coz our cinemas are full of ushers and projectionists wearing night-vision goggles etc and im surprised that, if this WAS cammed in the uk, they got away with it!

overall, nice cam

v 8 (kinda cropped, zoomed in too much)

a 7

m - dunno, but looks 'ok' imo

thnx to nbp's source for risking your ass!

Posted by slaz on 06-04-2005 09:25 PM:

i felt compelled to reply to this thread...

but to keep to the rules, the sample I saw was "watchable" and the audio was reasonable.... as a cam....

6/7/?

But the real reason I replied..... Im english, but have been living in Toronto for the last 2 years, and whoever that other muppet was, they dont have a fucking clue.... I have been to what they call a "booze can" here many, many times.... and all that is played is good house, be it funky or hard or trancy or whatever... and I can think of at least 3 "venues" that are still active. and not ruling out the legit clubs - Danny Tenaljia (or however its spelt) was JUST here, like a week ago.....

ok, back to lurking now......

Thumbs up

Good movie sound and video ok v5 a5..

I used to be a raver backin the 90s*REZERECTION CREW* .The 'House culture' will never phase out in the uk..

Remember the days of NOSEBLEED............

Lenny D,Bass gen, and all the others....

Not bad for a CAM.

Video 7 - Cropped a little too much all around. Initially the aspect ratio is perfect but then the camera zooms in to get a fuller screen. Some motion blur but expected for a CAM. One incident of 'Tw@t Factor' before film starts but not distracting.

Audio 7 - Sound seemed to come and go slightly but OK.

Film - 7 - Pretty good film. Style was good and I liked the way the story was told. Worth a watch.

Thanks to the release group for their efforts!

Pretty good cam.
7/6/7

Posted by fil_j on 06-06-2005 04:24 PM:

this is quite good for a cam
well watchable
7/7/have not wtached yet

Posted by me-self on 06-06-2005 04:42 PM:

Video: 7, at the start he zooms in and out alot and crops abit of the film off like names etc

Audio:7, sound is good apart from it being quiet then loud

Film: Will watch tonight i think and see what is all about.

I don't think it going to beat the like of snatch, lock stock and human traffic, not even going to talk about football factory, if they had released the workprint

Posted by bryehn on 06-10-2005 02:52 AM:

DJ Frankie Wilde's a fictonal character

heheheh...

FUBAR was way better than this, but it was still funny

fuck trance!

7/6/7

I don't remember for sure who it was, but I think Camex did an SVCD of this. I haven't looked at this release yet but the Camex version was nice. People were complaining that this copy is too zoomed in, while the other copy is correct AR, but at an angle/tilt.

7/7/? (Camex release)

House scene dead in TORONTO??

Dunno what the user was thinking when they posted about the scene in Toronto, but the house music scene has never really died here. It's just been through a lot of transitions.
The house scene in Toronto didn't start with the RAVE scene that's a completely diferent genera of people.
The house music scene was alive LONG before the RAVE scene ever existed and continues to be alive in underground warehouse venues and parties. The RAVE scene was the commercial scene here that any kid who walked in to a record store and picked up a flyer could find.

Anyhow movie looks entertaining and interesting, but hoping for a better release to watch.

Sorry my 2 cents.
