Bad crop or no bad crop, this is an EXTREMELY clean copy by 20th Century of this release. They could have lied and said this was a telecine and it would have been hard to tell the difference. The video is sharp, and the colors are clean and crisp. After looking at the sample, I didn't get the feel that this movie is a "bad" crop. No heads or feet were cropped off, so it looked fine to ME.
The audio is direct, but coming out of the 2 back channels which gives it the hollow sound, but I can easily mix it into the front channels after d/ling the entire release.

Video - 8.5
Audio - 6.0
Movie - ?

v: 7.5 - possibly a bit cropped, watchable though.

a: 6 hollow but probably good after its switched from rear channel to front
m: ?

Audio is NOT out of sync despite the below post. I scanned the entire release with VLC

S**** It's totally out of synch, I wonder How no one's notices this ???

Posted by Cr-critic on 06-05-2007 04:07 AM:

V-8 lil bit of pixalation throughout
A-8 very decent audio

Best out so far video and audio wise

Screw the nuke the crop is just fine

A damn fine release. Good job 20th all around...a bit late and a dupe, but its watchable for those who waited for a r5 or something..pristine video

Neva Judge a movie by its Sample :)

Dupe? of what source? as for video, have you actually seen this release because its far from prestine.

This is the one to keep until a R5 or screener shows up

those who say this could be passed off as a TC, you are correct, but it would be called out as a TS, the white balance is a bit bright, and there is slight motion blur... seeing as how the 1st ts didnt play on my phillips i got this, but only to just take a peek and watch the movie, but as always good effort by 20th albeit a bit late!

8/8/?

Posted by bobcam1 on 06-05-2007 06:06 PM:

White balance, just for future information, is the method by which colors are determined to be accurate, based on a white object in the frame. I think you're referring to luminance, or perhaps White Clip.

Posted by kevlar on 06-05-2007 07:33 PM:

the reason for bad.crop is because they left some black bars on the side which is not allowed in xvid format...other than that and dupe of ORC about 2 months ago, this rls is good

I call it exposure. Don't know if that is the correct term?
I think image is little over-exposed, hence the boosting white.
Rls is fine, thx 2oth.

V 8.5

A 7

M 8

way better than orcs rls,which was too dark and out of sync in alot of places.this is the one to get till a r5,screener,or dvdrip comes.

Posted by DocVW on 06-06-2007 04:59 AM:

Very bright in some scenes, but really dark in dark scenes which there are a lot of, but still very watchable. Sound was ok when mixed through my home theatre system. Some pixalization.

V=7
A=6.5

missing scene

i just watched this all the way through.. half decent movie.. video is good although it is cropped a bit but nothing that really detracts from the movie.

I did notice that part of the movie is missing at 01:06:32 where they are talking about blueprints and then mid sentence it cuts to a new scene... not really sure how much is missing because I haven't seen this movie before.. anyone notice this?

v: 8 - too much of a crop
a: 7 - slightly hollow
m: 5 - plot is half decent... hot girl is a plus

Posted by koby66 on 06-06-2007 02:37 PM:

best release out to date....

V-7
A-6 hollow sounding
m-6 first 40 min.of movie drags on....

v=8.5, fantastic vid, vivid colors.
a=7.5, standard direct audio.
m=9.5, just the ending was a little predictable.

Only got around to watching this release tonight but its a fine telesync it could almost pass for a telecine.
Audio needed to be edited in Goldwave but was very good when done so.
Movie itself was a kids film .
20th are releasing some fine stuff.
