First Look at The Punisher!!!

Get a first glimpse at THOMAS JANE in the title role of Marvel Comics' upcoming film based on their vigilante hero, THE PUNISHER!

Marvel's unstoppable vigilante THE PUNISHER hits the screen in a new action thriller directed by Jonathan Hensleigh, renowned screenwriter of genre blockbuster The Rock, Armageddon and Die Hard: With a Vengeance. Thomas Jane (Dreamcatcher, The Thin Red Line) headlines the film, which will be produced by Marvel Studios' CEO Avi Arad (The Hulk, Spider-Man, X-Men) and veteran producer Gale Anne Hurd (The Hulk, Aliens, The Terminator). Artisan Entertainment will release The Punisher in Summer 2004.

yay ! from the first photo its already clear (not that we needed evidence) that this is going ot be utter dross. f'christs sake, that guy does not inflict fear or terror unto me.

i always wanted to make my own imagining of the punisher, so was majorly pissed off when the hollywood machine announced it wanted a second attempt, to ruin the license even further.

this is who i'd have as the punisher - henry rollins legitimate tough guy, with the right look imo (he's the one on the right in case you're confused )

agreed..totally..I've at first wanted Rollins for Wolverine..then I decided I would rather see him as Frank Castle..

its a shame Hollywood doesnt have a clue

lol twice i've been asked that.. NO!

i stole it off some website when i looked up rollins. most pics of him were either live shots from black flag / rollins band, or face shots only.

God damn it! The Punisher is the only comic strip I ever really liked. And now they're going to fuck it up. I was so looking forward to this movie.

have none of u seen the dolph lundgeon version of punisher? its alright but a bit dated. this will prob be better cos of all the other re-releases/re-makes.
but then i only ever read one comic of punisher, so dont know the whole story, this may be a remake or a follow on...

p.s. anyone else notice the resemblence between thomas jne, and christopher lambert? when DBS came out i was thinking cool, lambrt finally got a decent film out and gone mainstream hoolywood, but no, he`s still making shat, oh well

i thought it was reasonable, along the lines of the original spiderman films, and hulk films(although the hulk with thor was cack).

John Travolta will play the bad guy once again in Artisan Pictures and Marvel Studios' "The Punisher" for director Jonathan Hensleigh. A July start date is planned in Florida with Thomas Jane in the title role. Travolta has a history of tackling villain roles, playing baddies in such films as "Broken Arrow," "Face/Off" and "Battlefield: Earth." In "Punisher," the two-time Oscar nominee will portray Howard Saint, a man involved in the criminal underworld who has managed to conceal his violent beginnings and become a paragon of society until, when his son is brutally slain, a darker, vengeful side re-emerges. "The Punisher" is based on Marvel Comics' popular vigilante hero, who dispenses harsh justice to criminals after his wife and children are slain by the mob.

I've always thought Thomas Jane would make a great Aquaman. But The Punisher? Look at him. It's like Charles Schwab's head stuck on a superhero's body... and because of that, it makes the skull on the shirt look stupid.

Ive read a few Punisher comics and I dont recall any villian named
Saint (Travoltas role) does anybody know if this character was in the comics?

Its a shame the couldn't have used the Kingpin in this movie, it doesnt matter if Michal Duncan Clarke played the role or not.
It just seems that a punisher movie should have his greatest villain in the movie
