Why is this in 2 CDs?
Okay, now I know that Diamond is an excellent group, and they know best....
But, the running time of this movie is 1hr 48minutes, was it really necessary to release a 2cd rip.
Okay, they gave us AC3 audio on 6 channels, great, but what about us with low bandwidth, who have got to wait for a 1cd release???

....and why does the opening animated sequence occupy only half the screen/frame?
I know it opens out once she visits the real world (and stays open when she returns to it) but this seems an odd and indefensible feature of the dvd. It certainly wasn't like that in the cinema and I hope the official dvd release doesn't replicate such a compromised or half assed version of the opening.

didn't see at cinema, but I would almost guarantee it was the same, you wouldn't notice it as much.

Nope. This is an anomaly or peculiarity exclusive to the dvd (rip).
So I'm not sure what's going here.

it was like that in the cinema just very subtle on the big screen and even says on IMDB.com facts for the movie the following:
"This is the second Disney film to cleverly switch aspect ratios, the first being Brother Bear (2003). Like ‘Brother Bear’, the film starts in a 1.75:1 aspect ratio when in animated Andalasia, and then subtly switches to the CinemaScope ratio of 2.35:1 when Giselle becomes a live-action character."

Great family movie, kids loved it !!!!
V:10
A:10
M: One for the Mrs and the kids
A: 8
V: 7 - about 4-5 glitches in the second CD where it skips 1-2 seconds.
M: 5 - for kids ONLY (you have been warned!)
My apologies for confusing the issue guys - it just seems so pronounced on my tv and was imperceptible (to me) on the big screen.
Perfect all the way around. What a pleasure to watch. Only tiny downfall was the predicable parts. Movie imo one of Disney's best works of late, well written and acted. Supurb rip!!
