call me stupid but ...

it says full screen ripped only ... does that mean this is the FS release or was the FS ripped from release and this is the WS

Ripped = removed (::EDIT:: in this case that is... I recently caught myself saying I've got to "rip" a few movies)... So the only thing ripped/removed IS the FS. That means all extras and the WS are there. Now, I am not sure what these extras are (if any). Getting it now to check it out.

Just finished watching and also noticed some slight sound problems. The two spots where I really noticed it; the city hall rooftop fight scene during one of the gun battles and the end credits all of the sudden the music gets a boost in volume toward the end.

Strange...

you guys are right - the 5.1 track does seem really nastilly normalized to me 8(nothing special)/5(normalized)/5(BS but Milla Jovovich is h-o-t)

Posted by PleXo on 12-13-2004 01:27 PM:

w00t!, very nice release, flicked through it, very nice from the sound tht i heard i didnt have any problems, but i havent watched it all
video-10/10
audio-8/10(ill believe you guys lol)
movie-10/10(watched mavens ts of it b4)

Posted by Redemption198 on 12-14-2004 02:41 AM:

Theres nothing wrong with the sound, ive just watched it and it was fine.

You've probably got your DRC settings wrong.

Posted by pedantics on 12-14-2004 03:41 PM:

agreed - there's nothing wrong with the soundtrack on the disc. there are scenes where fx are pulled back in the mix, but for dramatic effect. I reckon you fellas are too caught up LOOKING for problems with corrupt's rlses.

good video, nice sound - all round, VERY NICE. I missed this at the cinema so am extremely happy the rls came along so soon.

movie was pretty rad too - more in line with the games than the first one.

10/10/7.5

Posted by tezmo on 12-15-2004 12:36 AM:

lol pedantics youre not wrong - not saying theres anything up with the rls per se, just that the format (dvd) affords plenty more dynamic range than the production company responsible for this disc decided to use

Posted by slurmman on 12-15-2004 04:54 AM:

I flicked through it, got an odd error when burning. but it played in my player fine, so I guess its no biggy.

the picture quality seemed a little grainy, but its untouched, so I dunno. sound quality seemed fine.

Is this the movie only or are the special features too ? 3.5 gig seems a bit small.

Posted by activoice on 12-19-2004 01:34 PM:

Hey: StoneColdWhat

This is Movie + Menu

Looks like the official release probably had the full screen version aswell, and that was removed, no extras on the disc..

Although I think the commentary track is there...

Posted by StoneColdWhat on 12-21-2004 11:01 PM:

So does this have extras or not ? If so they're probably the same as the offical release right ?

Posted by fortuyn on 12-26-2004 12:23 AM:

If u demux this dvdr and author it with custom subs again, the dolby 5.1 gets out of sync..... very strange!
