Wow, after the Librium release, this is like watching a whole different movie! I wish this release had come sooner, but it's still beautiful and much appreciated.

10/8/9

Video is DVD quality. I've only seen one or two TC's with video this good and never any better.

Audio is very good and clearly direct, just not as good as the video. A bit low and with a bit of white noise (maybe from an analog source?). That's nitpicking though.

Movie is one of my favorites of 2006, maybe top five. Edward Norton is the shit and Paul Giamatti was used well in this one. Rufus Sewell played a good villian too. Biel was okay. Not as hot looking as usual and her acting doesn't hold up with the rest of the cast, but it was good enough.

First rate release all around.

That's cause it is a DVDrip, it comes from a R5 Russian DVDrip.

Can't say im complaining about it, lol :P

Last i heard it was due to the very high Piracy rates over there.
So they started releasing stuff earlier to stop people who didnt go to the cinema from buying Pirated DVD's, tbh, cant remember where i heard that, so it could be bullshit

9/7/?

Another excellent release regardless of the source. If PUKKA keeps this up it will become the benchmark from which other releases will be rated for quality. Congrats PUKKA and stay consistent.

Very sweet video. Audio is good, but does have some faint static to it. Not FM static, but rather a constant hiss the entire length of the movie. A little filtering, and its almost gone! Thanks for this great release, its one of the best i've seen in a while.

CATBOX

V - 9.5 Just about as good as it gets
A - 8 Still very good, even with a slight hiss
M - ? Looks good, but will watch in its entirity tonight

Watched this on the TV the other night.

Great TC. Video was sharp, colors decent (it's a dark, period piece movie) and the audio was excellent. I didn't notice any hissing on my 5.1 setup.

Movie was amazing. One of the better I've seen in a while. Whats funny is I grabbed this on accident, thinking it was "prestige" - anyhow, I'm glad I did, excellent film.

Watched this the night the rls came out and forgot to comment.

V- 9.5.. Awesome TC pukka. Hope to see more in the future

A- 6 Wasnt real bad, but the high end hiss gets annoying when you watch it on 6.1 dolby digital.

M-10 Norton rocks, awesome special effects, great story line

Good, and yet... nuke

[NUKED-Improper.framerate.Movie.sped.up]

Source framerate of the movie is 23.976, NOT 25. Aside from the chipmunk-esque audio this is evident by the runtime. IMDB lists the runtime as 110 minutes, but the nfo lists it at 105:41. Multiply that by 25, divide by 23.976 and you get, shocker, 110 and some change. Scene rules clearly state the framerate must match the source as closely as possible. Ergo, NUKED.

Maybe the source of the video is PAL. Ever thought of that?

If the source were a DVD or digital media, perhaps. However, this is a Telecine: by definition it comes from direct transfer from a film source, which is invariably intended to be played back in the originating framerate. This is why most European-based Telesyncs have motion blur, as the cammer is recording a film being projected at 23.976fps on a camera that records at 25fps.

In short, there is no way this came from a PAL source, period. It may have originated in a european country, but it was intended to be played at NTSC Film framerate.

I really don't know why groups speed up films for XviD releases. I can understand DVD and SVCD releases, since PAL formats are the most compatible worldwide, but I know of absolutely no XviD-capable devices which can only play files that are encoded at a certain framerate.

video 9 nice and clear, very good quality video, but little dark at some points

audio 7 pretty good, but there was some weird screeching to the sound when it got loud, and a very slight hum

movie 9 pretty good movie. made you think and had good twists to it. was pretty interesting
