Enemy Territory: Quake Wars [PC] Coming Q1 2007

BETA SIGN UP ON MONDAY 27th NOVEMBER

Whats this game and whys it deserve a thread?

Two sides, EDF (earth defence force) vs The Strogg

Simple, it looks like an excellent team shooter in a similar vein to battlefield but with actual map objectives that everyone works towards instead of flag to flag.

e.g. One map, the EDF must first construct a bridge, take a tunnel and base, insert paratroopers into enemy base and break into the main complex. The strogg must defend at all costs to win the map.

This game is also one wonderfully beautiful piece of eye candy:

Been looking forward to this for awhile and those screen shots make me drool. Gonna try to sign up for beta testing, lets hope it runs better on Vista than Quake 4 does, I'm having a hell of a time getting it to run at all. And there seems to be no help out there as of yet. Anyone else having problems or know of any fixes?

More than likely the pics are either on high end equipment, touched up or artist rendition. But fuck all it's Quake man!!!

well keep in mind the video was a pre alpha so will be stuffed with placeholders

the screenshots are more likely truer to form than the video.

Also if you dont like FPS, then why bother posting in the the thread?

Clean the fat out of your ears, that's not what I said. What I DID say was the average PC GAMER is white, male, and 36 years old give or take a few years. Mainly becuase this(my) generation grew up on computer gaming more so than console, and many console games are geared towards younger people. But can't play console games? Do you make this shit up in your head or just pull it out of your ass (maybe one in the same)? Wanna go a few rounds of CSS or Q4 that require more skill than any of your button mashing games? Bring your A game console boy.

Seriously though when is the last time you paid attention to console games? or even played one, With what you said it shows you don't. The majority of the games I play have a rating of M which means mature. I bet you would love GRAW or Gears of War if you actually played either one. GRAW is also on the pc but that version sucks ass.
Dude you say your going to get a console? I don't believe you at all, You said that about the ps2 and xbox, but now the new gen consoles are out, You keep making excuses to get one. Before you can actually comment maybe you should check it out for yourself instead of listening to statistics from Rush Limbaugh or whereever you get your information from.

I have played NUMEROUS fps's, and many pc games, but I don't like them generally. I prefer a console, Why? because it just works.

Well as I stated to you a few times, I'd prefer to wait until the boys are older. I'd want to hook it up to my big screen (remember your ps2 on it?) and play it there, which means keeping the kids out of the living room. Yeah that's easy

But I almost bought an xbox 360 this week, and I just might take advantage of the deal one a core system at Micro Center. So who knows? It's just that I'd rather spend the $100-$600 dollars on computer hardware instead of a console right now, mainly because I'm updating my systems so that they'll be able to play most of the new games coming in the next 12 months, and the ones out now, fairly well which requires higher-end hardware than what I was currently using until these past 2 months. But if someone gave me a console for xmas, or I got a deal I couldn't past up, you beat your ass I'd buy it and play it. As for playing on a console right now, hard to do when you don't have one, and let's face it I barely have enough gaming time as it is so I'd prefer to spend it on the equipment I do have (computers).

Only responding to para so I don't see the problem. And if you notice, I do talk about Quake Wars, so I'm not sure what exactly you're getting at. Unlike para, who should have never posted in this thread, I'm actually looking forward to this game though last I heard we're looking at a March 2007 release date (Europe may have it sometime at the end of Feburary 2007). Anyone heard anything different?
