Hmmm.... looks good, but it's a terrible movie. I hope you didn't waste your money on it in the theatre like I did. However, I did enjoy the 'tv' scene at the end. The 'New Exorcist', my ass.

Just
Just got done picking this up i allready watched the vhs screener and i must say this is a GREAT MOVIE
but on this release i give it a 9/9/10
I considered Fear.com a comedy, it was that bad. The Ring is somewhere between Fear.com and Blair Witch.
yeah, i'm leeching this one at the moment
What's the deal with watermarks etc? The .nfo didnt say a word about that subject, which is against tdx2k2 rules if there's some watermarks
(?)
I only archive movies with 5.1 sounds and without watermaks
i just finished watching this completely, it is a very scary movie - not too good, but frightening. could be better tho
the rip is cool (nice DD 5.1 !) - but it is strangely coloured, but i guess that is the movie (a little darkish greenish :P as you can also see in the sample jpg)
anyway, scr. messages (medium size.. seen worse, seen better ones) pop up every at about 5:00, 10:00 and then every ten minutes again.
but anyway, props to vite.. a really nice rip!
//spooky
Sure the movie was frightening because of all the cheap scares (i.e. quick flashes/loud noises/shitlikethat), but the real scary stuff is in atmospheric horror, which this movie lacks.

I liked this movie. Naomi Watts is a pleasure to look at.
The encoding creates some unintended weird effects in some scenes... making walls appear to be breathing. Almost looks like 8-bit color at times.

See the original. It's much better. I still really enjoyed this remake. I find it funny that most of what I liked were the scenes that were in the original and most of what I didn't like were the scenes they invented for the new version. Ahh well, I still give it points for not completely selling out and making another hollywood piece of trash with some weird alien space battle at the end.
It's actually not filmed that way.
It has been graded afterwards digitally I suppose.
Cannot play
I just download this movie, but i can't play it....
Which codec do i need? I have the original xvid codec, nic's build and koepi's build installed, but is doesn't play
Excuse my n00b question, but i have no clue....
use ffdshow (latest non-alpha-build) for playing the video
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow
as for the ac3 decoder, use intervideo audio decoder that comes with nimo codec pack for instance
http://nimo.everwicked.com/ (down at the moment, use this mirror: http://www.geocities.com/nimocodec/ )
//spooky
Well it reid what you said spooky, but it still doesn't work.
Do i need tot change something in the settings of the FFDShow?
Can somebody check what audio codec/direct show filter etc is used, with FFDshow ??
I would help me alot!
Thanx in advance!
ok, then.. either you tell me the exact problem that occured and in which program or you just install the www.bsplayer.org and tell me what he says to you when u try playing it
i'd recommend you the last thing

Hi Spooky
Ok, i tried BS Player
It says: Unknown File Format [XVid]
But i also tried mediaplayer2, and standard XP (8 i believe), and then it says: Cannot find necessary filters to generate a data stream...(translated from dutch xp error message)
I'm not a n00b in computers...this is the first movie i can't play of all my collection (yes, i collect
)
I hope somebody chas the answer! Greetings!
that's weird...
do other xvids work?
where have you downloaded the file? is it incomplete or corrupted maybe?
have u enabled in the ffdshow settings that it is used to play xvid?
//spoo
Other Xvids, just work fine! This is the first one that doesn't work!
Some friends of mine, downloaded it from an other source then i, and have the same problem with this movie!
I don't understand it anymore, maybe both files (2 cd) are corrupt, but i guess i should get another error message then i'm getting now!
Is there somethinh like Xvid Fix?? Just like Divx Fix?? Maybe that should help.
The settings of FFD Show are correct, i tried several different settings also. Do i need to change directshow somewhere to use ffdshow or something, i can't find a setting like that anywhere!!
Thanx in advance for you reaction!
GreetingS!!
Aye thanks for the help Sp00ky.. I grabbed this today (as it's currently one of my favorite movies) and I also get an error message with it.. 'class not registered'.. i will try your methods and report back..
no dice m8.. still says class not registered
funkaholic: that is really weird, i hope someone else may be able to help you with that (same for scorch)
concerning some "xvid fix", never heard of it, BUT divx fix also fixes xvids if they are incomplete.. but usually they look weird after that (just as if you fix a divx4.. also looks weird)
scorch: did u also use bsplayer - if so, what did it say?
usually, windows media player errors are sh*t
//spoo
I did use BS Player, it gave me no trouble.. except the audio, but that was something on my computer.. had to change an output.. I suck at IRC so I wait for the versions to come on Kazaa, been waiting on this one for weeks..
Heh heh, but you want to hear something funny? When I make a VCD out of part one, on the TV, the image is upside down

kazaa..
Yeah yeah yeah but I can't get things through IRC because of firewall conflicts.. and I don't feel like rerouting ports or whatever.
Anyways.. anyone know why the picture is upside down??
