Oscar season already? Time is flying by!

First off, besides all the *beep* you's on their nfo props ORC for this super fast copy.

Sound is Direct, sounds great, in sync. Video is clear. Every so often you get the "For Your Consideration" popping up on the bottom of the movie. No Black & White marks noted.

Only complaint on this release is, ORC i understand there was probably serials, but why did you guys have to over crop so much? Half foreheads and eyebrow people through the whole movie! Way to much crop, why not just blurr?

Major over crop issue, other then that pretty sweet pre theater release.

V - 8 for Over Crop

A - 10 Perfect

M - ? Not sure yet

@0LdTiMeR

Its NOT overcropped.... the "for your consideration" is on both the picture and the black bars that was cut off, thus why you only see the top half of the "for your consideration" if it were overcropped they would have cropped all of the message off.

Ive got the DVD source of this, again NOT overcropped

Very nice release,very fast thanks orc.Audio is perfect no problems there,video is near perfect other than the message on the bottom of the screen here and there,but does'nt effect movie at all.And movie was really good ...overall great release.

What the.................

What the hell. I just looked at the copy I got and it looks like it's missing the first part of the movie. It just starts where he's with some girl in the hospital.

My copy is only a little over 1 hour and 3 minutes.

From what I saw it doesn't look overcropped.

V=8
A=8
M=??? Need to get a complete copy I guess

Shibadude,

Sounds like you have only downloaded 2nd part of the movie. There are 2 parts.

Totally agree with Matt. This release is definitely not overcropped. Just check the DVD Screener source if you have any doubts.

Also, I'm glad ORC didn't blur anything because it's not worth it with such little text at the bottom.

Major respect to ORC for getting this out so quickly.

Video: 8.5
Audio: 8.5
Movie: ?? Will have to watch soon.

Congrats on having the "DVD Source", it still doesn't mean that this is not over cropped.

If half the "For your consideration" is chopped off the bottom, then we are also missing footage at the top of the screen, which is why there's foreheads cut off etc through the movie.

You seem to know rules, wouldn't this mean that it is over cropped Mr I got the DVD?

I'm not saying nuke this or get rid. This is an excellent pre theater release. Keep them coming. Just rating on the quality thus being VCDQuality.

I only have the xvid, not the source, but it appears to be a standard awards screener crop. It's a 2.35:1 video in a 16:9 frame with the subs halfway between the hard encoded black bars and the video. They appear cut off while the upper region of the video just cuts off part of the black bars.

9/10/?

Regardless of the crop issue we are finally getting timely quality releases of some very good movies. This one definitely an Oscar contender. Kudos to ORC.

Simply astounding film!

9/9/10

No issues at all with the sound or picture, exactly what one would expect from a 2 CD sized dvd rip.

Movie itself is simply brilliant.

Yeah, major props to ORC!
and what a great movie.

1st, thanks for the congrats
2nd, Yes they chopped off the bottom black bar thus why youre missing the full message
3rd, No just cause they chopped off the message on bottom doesnt mean the top is overcropped, its not
4th, if you did encoding you would know that when cropping each side (top, bottom, left, right) are independent of each other, meaning that if you move the crop on the bottom doesnt exactly mean the crop of the top moves
5th, So no just cause some of the message is missing cause the black bar was cut off it doesnt mean its overcropped, maybe you should check out VirtualDubMod, AVIDemux, ect ect and you would learn this

tl/dr.....Its not overcropped, learn how how to encode and you would know this

Are you really that stupid ?

DVD/DVDSCR have black bars encoded into the video, the "For your consideration" is displayed half on the black borders and half on the image

Xvids don't have black borders encoded into the video so when you rip the movie your left with only the top half of the message the image part the rest has gone along with the borders

Download the DVDSCR and you see

Slow as hell,; predictable storyline in about 5 minutes, as they give away the ending rght off the bat and do a reverse timeline.
Trailers were very msileading,as reviewer above stated.
I see why Golden Gloves, etc, passed on this one.

Major props to ORC for a pre, and no,it's not overcropped.

Dvd looks to be same source orc used?? Unless im looking at something different. The dvd has the for your consideration cropped as well? Alliance did a DVD of it. Maybe this is an upscale of the orc source and people are looking at something different?

why is it that i'm not the only one who has the problem with the video stuttering every now and then, but i seem to be the only one who is commenting on it. other than that. movie is not overcropped. a=9 v=9 story=6.5

Excellent quality, almost perfect if not for the "property of" that popped up at the bottom every once in a while (still very small text and non-intrusive).

As for the movie, you can just tell most people will watch this and when it's over sit there saying, "Wow, that was deep". If by deep they mean predictable storyline, snail's pace and a respectable ending to a snoozer of a movie, then I agree, very deep.
