Thumbs down Scary Movie 3 To be given an PG-13 Rating!

Hey guys, just wanted to let you all know that the MPAA has officially given Scary Movie 3 a PG-13 rating. In addition, Anna Faris (Cindy Campbell) had to go back to Vancouver to RESHOOT some of the "R-rated" scenes in order for the film to be PG-13. Thus, the company has decided to release Scary Movie 3 on October 24 instead of it's original release date, October 3rd.

In addition, Anaa Faris has confirmed that she might not appear in Scary Movie 4 or 5(Yes they are making a 4th and 5th). But hey, you never know right?

I fail to see the problem, the Naked gun movies are a shite site funnier than either of the Scary movie movies.

The Scary Movie films SUCK!. I didn't laugh once when watching the first two.

I couldn't care less about this film!

On the other side of the coin tho i really loved the Naked Gun films. They were pure ownage but the Police Squad show on which it was based is better!

Ugh
I haven't seen the Scary Movie 3 trailer, but the second one was total shit and the pg13 is enough for me to never watch it.

Arghs, i really can't see why they even bother churning out more sequels. when are they gonna learn that making parodies of movies that are either horror-parodies themselves or feature a lot of that "oh-so-trendy-post-scream-90's-self-referential-humour-bullshit" just isn't gonna work?
But most importantly: who the hell spends money to see these "movies"? I mean, there must be enough of them for the producers to even consider further sequels! I just....can't...understand....it........

Posted by dc_man on 08-21-2003 05:37 AM:

This is fucking gay...first 3rd shouldnt even have been made, now its gonna be pg-13 and second a 4th and a 5th!! FUCK OFF.

Posted by X-T on 08-22-2003 05:34 AM:

i hope in the 4th or 5th one they make fun of themselves, idiots, it said on the first one's front cover, "no sequel", then they made a sequel, now a trilogy and soon to be a damn saga.

and you know what comes after the saga (dun, dun, duuuun) THE LEGACY . shitty movies for ever, and ever, and ever.

OMFG, You all need to lighten up.
How, please tell me, can you not laugh at that mans hand?
Get drunk and watch it, you'll have to laugh then.

I never saw the first one cause it looked stupid as hell, I was subjected to the second one. I will not willfully subject myself to watching this 3rd one at all.

When i watched the second one I laughed but the movie sucked ass.

I have a slight amount of intelligence when drunk, thus making scary movie 2 not at all entertaining.

Heh. someone said that the formula they use to make this movie doesn't work, but it actually does. I don't really know a person who actually hates these movies. I personally found 1 and 2 to be enteraining and why the hell does anyone try to think during this movie to begin with! Turn ur fuckin brains off and u too just might crack a smile.

Oh yeah... fuck the mpaa.. that was the dumbest move they could have done with this franchise. Thats like going and rating jackass pg-13 or better yet making finding nemo rated R for blood and violence. Just doesn't make sense!

How the hell would you know if the rating is justified or not without even seeing the movie?

I thought 1 was really good, maybe because of my youth when it came out, but 2 sucked my nuts. I'm not expecting much with this one.

Posted by platinum_bomb on 09-02-2003 09:33 AM:

The last 2 movies were both R am i not correct? Had they been rated anything else, then the gags would have been dummied down to be nothing but shit appropriate for young teenagers and that would have more then likely been lame. I dont know. it still seemed like a stupid move by the mpaa. i really wouldn't want to watch a "softened" version of what was originally intended for Scary Movie 3

The last 2 were R I assume, but that doesn't mean the third one is required to be. And dude, both of the first 2 movies WERE shit appropriate for young teenagers. Are you kidding? That's the target audience of these movies without question.

If you watch a softened version of Scary Movie 3, you have no one to blame but the makers of the movie. Shit, the MPAA didn't go to them and say "We want this movie to be PG13 so you better damn well make it that way!" Don't give me this stupid move by the MPAA shit, that makes absolutely no sense.

this is obviously not the case.. but im willing to put money down on the fact that it wasnt the production team that decided to shoot for a PG-13.. it was the damn distributers.. new line or whoever gave the greenlight for this piece of shit.. decided they wanted to cash in a little bit more.. so made it so more people can get into the theatres.. allthough it makes sense for this movie to fucking flop.. who knows..

i mean after i witnessed goddamn jeepers creepers 2 become the number 1 movie in america.... i have no hopes for american movie viewers.. apparently theyre a bunch of easily led douchebags... so who knows..

but yeah.. sequels to parody's dont work.. naked gun.. great.. it sequels.. bleh..

I know that Scary Movie wasn't aimed at kids. Come on. A guy busts his nut so hard in Scary Movie 2, it blows the chick sucking his dick back onto the freakin wall. Yeah, i dare someone to try and get away with aiming that towards 13 yr olds. lol

Posted by teen_wasteland on 09-03-2003 01:27 AM:

When you say young teenagers, I'm thinking in the age group of 15-19. If that's not what you meant, then fine. But I sure as hell know that most adults aren't as entertained by the nut-busting that you mentioned as teenagers are.

Napalm, I agree. There's no question that the distributers very well could have had influence in pushing a pg-13 movie in order to make more money from a younger crowd. My point was simply that the MPAA only gives a rating, it doesn't influence a movie's content.

that sure didnt happen with american pie, or the south park movie.

well 15-19yr olds arent young teenagers, they are young adults. I guess i mean like 12- 14 something like that.. the content of these movies would be inappropriate for them. 15-19 sounds much better, but then that averages to about 17 which is the regular R rating, ya know so.. i mean if it has a pg-13 rating they might lose sales if the last 2 movies targeted an older audience. Then again, it might not be that big of an issue.. provided they advertise well, and still include crude sexual humor. Man, in the trailer they make fun of the infamous Pam and Tommy video.. lmfao... fawkin classic

Forgive me for not being familiar with these two examples, but please explain how so? The only thing I see that might've happened was that the MPAA was going to give these movies NC-17 ratings based on the content, and thus the film makers cut out certain parts in order to obtain the R rating.
