The Bourne Ultimatum

Source: Variety

Universal Pictures has signed Tony Gilroy (Armageddon) to write The Bourne Ultimatum, the first step in getting the third installment of the studio's successful spy franchise off the ground.

"Ultimatum" is the third Robert Ludlum adaptation for Gilroy after 2002's The Bourne Identity and last year's The Bourne Supremacy.

Matt Damon has publicly expressed interest in reprising his role as Jason Bourne, but no deal is expected until after Gilroy's script comes back in. The studio is also holding off talks on who'll direct. "Identity" was helmed by Doug Liman, while Paul Greengrass directed last year's "Supremacy."

The two previous "Bourne" pics have together grossed more than $500 million worldwide and been big earners on DVD, selling 15 million home video units.

loved the first one, great action movie, the fights were some of the best choreographed and shot i've ever seen outside of hk/jap/kor movies.

second movie was 'hmmm', great driving sequence and one really good fight, but not as effective as the first one all round IMO.

would worry that a 3rd one would be just the same-ol-same made just to cash-in.

i prefer the second one tbh

Hope they dont fuck this up!

Hopefully it'll round out the trilogy nicely. Looking forward to it.

Couldnt agree more.

So far the 'Bourne' films has been superb, one of the best action movie series... would be a shame to put in a crap 3rd installment just to raise easy money.

I think it would be very hard for them to fuck up a 3rd movie..its gonna be awesome!

This movie is gonna be so tits. Love the first 2.

Posted by The CandyMan on 07-29-2005 02:31 PM:

Bah, the movies were so-so. It's hard for me to watch a movie after reading the book, especially these since they left so much shit out I find it hard to believe Lundlum even lets them show it. Ah, the almighty $.

mmm, loved the first one,
tha second one was acceptable, but a third one will be TO much. They will certainly fuck it up and the nice aspects of the first two will be lost...
A shame that they milk out succes. They should stop after 2 successes.

Digging this one up from the past, but better than making another thread.

Teaser and Theatrical Trailer here.

The teaser is a little old as it looks like the same bad guys/gals, but the full trailer has the new eveil do-er, much more interesting.

I think it looks fucking great, unless the trailer is the very best and only decent parts, I think this one should no-ruined film.

did anyone else read the books? the third book takes place when bourne is like 40 or 50, so whatever creation they're putting on the screen, it wont be ultimatum.

Hrmmm no one has commented in this thread about the movie after it was released. Has anyone seen it?

I have the first two on dvd, and I enjoyed both. However, after watching the trilogy (I assume this is the end) I must say the 2nd movie was the best.

I know this isn't a comments thread on a release but I give it 7 outta 10 with the 2nd in the trilogy being an 8.

I would watch it again in the cinema. So, my answer is yes.

I will probably watch RH3 but I highly doubt seeing it in the cinemas.

For non Brits.

These are the listings

I have seen them all except Rush Hour 3. I haven't seen Bratz, Hairspray, Because I said So or Chak De India(Probably only showing in leicester and Bombay) but I have no interest in any of those.

Rush Hour 3 is my saviour, will be watching the fuck out of that tomorrow.

WATCHING THE FUCK OUT OF IT!!

RUSH HOUR 3 - GO WATCH IT AT YOUR LOCAL CINEMA

Posted by baha on 08-15-2007 10:49 PM:

Watched it tonight.

Pretty fucking non-stop for 2hrs. Not enough fight scenes for me, that was the highlight of the first. One slick bit in London, the badass fight is in Tangiers - I enjoyed that bit, pretty much like the hotel scene in the first and the German(?) guy in the second one - and lots of car action in New York, but the hand to hand action (probably the best I've seen in any US movies) isn't sufficient in screen time for me.

Lots more story detail in this and the story is complete after this movie, worth seeing it for that alone.

Highly watchable popcorn muncher, and one that you'll have to pay a little attention as the story flits from city to city, continent to continent and, if like me, you have your brother's Jack Russell trying to bite your toes off you may have to backtrack a couple of times.

Just checked IMDB:

quote:
8.6/10 (18,395 votes), top 250: #54

Cunt the fuck off! It's a good movie, I wouldn't put anyone off seeing it, but I could name 54 Korean movies better than this...and I've probably only seen a coupla hundred of those!

I watched the supposed dvdscreener the 2 nights ago cos im a cheap-ass and couldn't be bothered waiting the 2 days for it to hit theatre, and i gotta say WOW.

Brilliant ending to a trilogy. Just hope they don't make anymore and fuck it up.

Movie - 9.

Will be purchasing the dvd boxset.

Me too lmao .... But his role on the old movie 'Talented Mr. Ripley' was good IMO.
