LOL i dunno how you looked past stalone's stellar acting, you'd think after as many films as he's been in he might be getting a bit better by now.

i was amazed by the movie

Few things I'm glad they kept:

The music. I was afraid they would replace the whole movie with new music or current music (minus some rap music bits at Dixon's crib) They kept all the original music (minus Eye of the Tiger) in tact including my favourite "Redemprion")

Pauly and Marie. Original characters from 30 years back. Lovin' it.


Now the next problem I have isn't so much against Rocky as it is against new movies in general. I HATE this cinematography bullshit of during an action scene they change scenes every 1 to 2 seconds to make it look "cool"

The old Rocky movies would have minimal camera changes during the fight. So you only payed attention to the fight. I don't care what the audience is doing or seeing all the people on the ring side cheering. When you see it you'll know exactly what I mean.

All in all it was great film. My friend Heather who went with us fell asleep during the first Rocky film (granted it was like 2am but still) she enjoyed his film very much. And hates herself for it lol.

I seen it and Personally thought it was ridiculous.I hated it.I loved the first 4 Rocky films but felt these last two were a complete waste of time.Not to spoil it for anyone but don't expect to see any action for over an hour and the story line up until then is really weak and totally played out.Stallone is looking more like his mother everyday.

Rocky Dildoa

It was better than 5, and I think that the fight scene was just as good as the others, despite the change. Overall, it was pretty good, much much more than what I expected.

Wonderful movie.

It was OK, a decent popcorn muncher, but nothing glorious.

Peter Petrelli was a good touch, I like his acting style, I think he's going to be massive...if anyone can ever remember his real name

And was wondering where the whole non-love love-interest was going...and it went nowhere. And the mixed race son...in for just a little more token value (IMO).

The only layer of cheese missing was the post fight Creed-esque press conference/visit from Dixon to acknowledge how great Balboa is/was...maybe that ended up on the cutting room floor.

I still enjoyed it, but would've preferred it to be rated 15 with more boxing and gut-churning training scenes...that's the legacy of Rocky movies, a man who battles with himself and adversity to reach an impossible goal...not a PG about a comfortably well off do-gooder.


PS: was this the one that had the ending re-shot because originally Rocky dies but the test audience hated it? I think that may have been better...grittier...and done more at the box office.

I'm not being a homer but Rocky Balboa was great! A fitting end to the series.

It was decent...watched it last night and I can honestly say it was ten times better than Rocky 5

Rocky V was horrible. It made me never want to watch another Rocky film again.

Watched this movie the other night. It was a good movie, but not for any great reason. Better than anything > Rocky 2.

You see, even Petrocs likes it. I would have changed a few things in this movie. I prefer the old way of doing the fights. The realistics fighting versus Rocky world fighting doesn't do it for me. 2. I would have introduced Duke better than what was done. I'm almost positive a Duke scene was cut out to cut the time down. 3. I would have added a death flashback of Adrian. Talia Shire begged Sly to at least do a death scene. I think Sly kept her out for budget reasons. They say there is an alternative ending shot where Rocky wins and it is rumored that you will be able to pick the ending on the upcoming dvd. Other than that, I didn't have too much beef with the flick. Other than they should have meshed out Dixon's character a lil bit better. Give it an 8/10.

edit: seriously though, even the critics are liking this, i don't understand. watched it today after dinner with the family, and everyone was on the same page as me... i don't get it, what did you guys see in this???

What I liked about it, is that the whole movie isn't filled with testosterone. It actually has a story. Sly could have went the other direction, made the movie formalic and have Balboa come back and win the Heavyweight championship of the world. Just another Rocky movie spectacle but instead, he made a movie about heart. It's probably the 3rd best movie of the series. I still like Rocky and Rocky II better. Anyone that says III and IV or better are nuts.

Dixon looks like a pussy , if you see Apollo , Glubber lang and Drago . They looking bad ass .

Why would Sly do it so Realistic , if like the other Rocky's where Realistic . That unrealistic Fights made him Rocky .

In the movie it is like Dixon is Rocky's Friend , No Eye of the tiger , and i don't mean the song , i mean the look of Rocky .

The last round of the fight , what a fucking songs did they use .
It's more like song for the Army . It begins Great , but then.
Also its al to 2006 , the way of filming , at the fight it was al to light .
Look Rocky 4 against Drago , it's not to light .

And where was the Duke , is it al he gets in the movie . You see him just at the training .
Also Training was to Short !!

Somethime Sly Stallone also did some overacting , for example at the Ice Rink , Sly with his hands . Am i the only one that notice this . ha
The way he somethimes act at the final Fight .

And atleast he fucking should have Won the Fight .

For me best rocky line up is : 1 / 2 / 4 / 3 / 5 and 6

If Rambo 4 will also be like this .
