READ THIS TO AVOID BEING BANNED
going by the sample, and a couple rar's it's not too bad. sound is clear, although the levels are a bit off, not too much bass. video is fine, a tad dark, but it's a dark movie. will watch later and see if it's good throughout.
7/7/x
by watching the sample it is better than the other rlses by far. sound is clear and picture is not badly cropped. will go to the theater to watch this one. but will keep this to watch later on.
going of sample
looks a litle dark and grainy but the best so far

Finally a real TS, and not some crappy mislabeled CAM. Video is pixilated, but AR is good, and so are the colors. This is a dark movie, so its hard to get a good capture. This is dark, but not as dark as the other CAM releases. Some cleaning up with TMPGEnc does wonders for the quality. Sound is definitely direct this time. Its nice and clear. The moive rocks, but as with the others, could have used another hours worth of story. Maybe they'll release extended editions when all 7 movies are made. Thanks for the good release PUKKA. All your work lately is appreciated.

Half way through. Very good cam. Some pixilation and very little else in terms of problems. TS audio fine. 100% watchable. R5 would be nice but Sept. is just a wee bit ridiculous. Grab this one.
8/8/? So far typical Harry. Excellent
Doesn't disappoint. 8.5
I was hoping for better. Sure, this is the best out right now, but it's nothing special. A tad on the blurry side. A 20th rls would have been nice... oh well.

watched at imax, the bottom is a bit cropped, not terrible, nor the sides, top seems fine to me, a tad dark, im not sure if even the old greats could film this movie without a tad bit too much darkness... its just that type of flick...
Just finished the last book and was waiting for a decent copy of HP5 to drop in, so this is welcome!

@CATBOX
If you have the time please share what you do with TMPGEnc to make this release better. Would be greatly appreciated! If this is off topic, please let me know where this question should be posted.
Right, after watching it.
The AR is off on this as it's more flatter then it should be, also the colours are off too as it's got more of a purple type colour going though it, both can be fixed in TMPGEnc like what i did before burning to dvd.
Also it's still a bit dark but that can't be helped with this kind of movie, its still alot better then all the other releases so far and is very watchable.
V:7. Like i said it would of been an 8 only for the AR, and Colour problems.
A:8. Very good sound imo.
M:8. i never read any of the books, but i really enjoyed this movie.
Finished.
Pretty good quality for a TS. I doubt we'll see better until the september R5 release.
Its not nearly as dark as the other releases I've looked at. Definately watchable.
As for the movie itself, so so. I paid to go see ratatoie and I'm glad I did, but I just dont see doing that for this movie.

Thx PUKKA!
Video - 8 For a TS it's certainly good. Very watchable
Audio - 8 Decent sound, no synch issues and voices very clear. Slight warbling when the music kicks in but nothing much
Movie - 8 Love the books and love the films - fans won't be dissapointed with this one.
Just finished watching, couple of glitches when I watched.. could be my software but nothing major.
Some night scenes are hard to see which is a little shame but hey its pretty dang good considering this movie came out 1 week ago.
Sound generally good throughout although does lack the Bass and the Music is a little erm "slow/fast" so you do get some odd sounding music at some points.
overall all I would say
7/7/7
Movie was alright, but felt very long for what it was!
Thanks Pukka!

Too dark in the dark spots, sound a bit flat, movie was okay.

Video: Dark in some spots making parts of the scene hard to see. Color is better than the other releases though, by far. Resolution is also a bit crappy too, but that may be because it's on a computer screen. I'll post back about it after seeing on a plasma TV.
Audio: Damn good, can hear everything clear. Some parts such as when music kicks in is slightly scratchy, but only a few times. Definitely good audio for only being out a week.
Movie: I liked it, I've been growing up with these books/movies, so it's all good to watch. Some of it dragged, and things could've been explained better, but that's why I have the books in the first place.

The show must go on...
Now here's a group that knows how to post-process a source
Once again, Pukka impresses me with their competent work on post-processing cam video.
Video - 7: The best video out there yet, though a good R5 will definitely fix that problem quickly. What's interesting about this video is that it's been de-skewed, something I'd long hoped release groups would start doing to cam video shot from a bad angle. (For proof: if you check around the 20:50 mark on cd2 you'll see a typical DV datastream error, except the strips of frozen pixels are angled. That's evidence of a de-skew) Unfortunately the de-skew was done at a low resolution, leaving a highly visible "stair-step" effect on certain angled lines, and in particular round objects like the rims of Harry's glasses. (If you're going to de-skew video, you can avoid that sort of effect by upsampling to 720p or so, de-skewing, then downsampling to your encode resolution. Makes your encode take a bit longer though) Colors are decent and a bit washed out at times; contrast is a minor issue for things with lots of white surrounding them, like the TV seen in the Dursley's house. Focus is a bit off at times too. Still, everything important is perfectly visible; this release is quite watchable.
Audio - 7: There's a hum to it, for one, but it only seems to get noticably bad during certain mostly silent scenes. There's also some distortion that occurs when there's a lot of sound effects happening; it's not distracting, but it does bring the quality of the sound down. Oh yeah, and it's mono, but just about any direct audio is mono these days. Fortunately this audio has decent bass to it, so you don't feel like you're listening from a tin can. Despite the shortcomings, everything is audible and understandable.
Movie - 8: I wasn't blown away, but that's because I'm one of those annoying "book fans" who already knows what's going to happen and gets all twitchy about the stuff they leave out. I will say the magical fight that kicks off towards the end was a lot more exciting than I'd imagined it when I read the book, but nonetheless faithful (mostly) to the written version. Good filmmaking there.
Bottom Line: Despite the low-ish rating this is the best release out there. It's very, very watchable, and more importantly shows a level of video workmanship I find rare anymore. Now that Pukka has shown by example that a badly angled cam can be fixed in post-processing I would hope that other groups would take notice and follow suit.
