Props to videocd, but they are still needing some major improvements before they can even be compared to TCF. The wasn't wasn't that great, but much better than any of the previous TS's.

It's okay, colors are a bit off and sound ain't the best, below average VideoCD quality... But I'm looking forward to more releases...

who would even archive a screener unless its a dvd-scr anyway so i say toss the credits on some vcr tape. Ide rather save a disk then waste 2 on something that im just going to toss. who has room to archive that shit lol

A screener will always be better than a TS proper, even an excellent TS like FTF's. But unless it's a DVD, it ain't worth upgrading because of the centered counter-- something noticeably missing from FTF's version. Great work, it appears, but I hope someone uncovers a RING or SANTA CLAUS 2 -- something that needs a serious upgrade.

Question Wrong category?

Last time I checked, wasn't a vcd which included a time index called a Telecine? I thought someone made a big deal over this some time ago. I remeber reading the post. I'm thinking that this could be a telecine and not a screener.

Correct me if i'm wrong though.

Mak.

you mean to tell me every movie you have burned is now in a landfill ?

Posted by Vtec on 12-17-2002 01:12 PM:

Like someone said above, of course a screener would (I should say SHOULD since it also depends on the encoder/source) look better than a TS (duh, common sense). But compared to other screeners by tcs, tcf, and even obus the quality sucks. I'm sorry but it does, once again dark dull picture and very pixelated even in low motion scenes. Thank god the movie sucked or I would have had more to say, I know it's free, etc. but this is MY opinion... if you don't like it then close your eyes and read the next person's post but when I see a screener released, I prefer screener quality. And if cutting creds is what it takes to put this on 1CD then they should have, even if cdr's are dirt cheap I'd rather save an extra CD for a good release. 4/8/3 (compared to other screeners)

Posted by Aff on 12-17-2002 02:20 PM:

rather dark

and who doesnt keep the movies??

i thought everyone did... not just to watch but to trade. they make good christmas gifts as well </cheapass>

been waiting for a decent rls of this and this aint good enough. but was glad to see a scr at last

and yes a "ring" scr/tc would be nice to see.

ummm no... i've seen plenty of TS's come out in better quality then plenty of SCR's out there.

Havent seen but want to respond ( please note off topic before you read). Video cd seems to have hits and misses. Its part of life i guess. I think they just need to work on their encoding skills some. It looks from the amount of releases they put out they have mad connects. However they just dont know what to do with them once they receive the release. 20 to 1 if they learned encoding they might be one of the powerhouses of the scene. No im not a fan of any group in particular, though i do like tcf a lot, but it is the truth. Tcf should send em some help in encoding skills as an xmas present :P . WHo knows, we then might be seeing shit done right. As for ring, ive been waiting a while to. Don't know til a screener comes out if anything will or not.. if a screener at all. Its rather old in scene terms and yet NOTHING!

TELECINE (TC) -
A telecine machine copies the film digitally from the reels. Sound and picture should be very good, but due to the equipment involved and cost telecines are fairly uncommon. Generally the film will be in correct aspect ratio, although 4:3 telecines have existed. A great example is the JURASSIC PARK 3 TC done last year. TC should not be confused with TimeCode , which is a visible counter on screen throughout the film.

SCREENER (SCR) -
A pre VHS tape, sent to rental stores, and various other places for promotional use. A screener is supplied on a VHS tape, and is usually in a 4:3 (full screen) a/r, although letterboxed screeners are sometimes found. The main draw back is a "ticker" (a message that scrolls past at the bottom of the screen, with the copyright and anti-copy telephone number).
<snip>

sorry for the large post. hope that clears it up a little.
look for the 'Property of Lame Hollywood Production Studio'
and u have a SCR

Ya, it does look a little dark... but might as well add it to the collection

*puts on shelf*

Posted by kamokaze on 12-18-2002 07:03 PM:

well maybe its me but this sucks....too dark, muffled hissy sound

Posted by EternallyDream on 12-19-2002 10:21 AM:

ok.... so I admit it... I save everything. There always seems to be someone that wants it for some reason.

My dl of this was a little dark also..... but still decent and it keeps my movie watching friends happy... Is that not the point?

Posted by Mystic Slippers on 12-20-2002 10:16 PM:

I watched the whole movie this afternoon. I thought it was quite funny. Average, but funny.

Nice enough quality i guess, if a little dark. Sound is a bit scratchy in places too. Still, it'll do nicely. Thanks.
