looks like a keeper

V:10
A: 9.5 - seems like too much bass or something? iono, almost perfect though
M: 6 .. I didnt think it was that funny

Posted by Jc100 on 12-12-2006 12:32 AM:

Keeper... BS!!!

They could have listed what was taken out.. Greatful for release, Pissed they didnt spend 5 minutes to mention the below.

Missing From the DVD / Removed:

Deleted Scenes
The Making of Jackass 2
Outtakes

Word to the wise.. Buy the dvd... This one is missing a lot of the stuff that youd want. Why have an unrated if the best parts are missing....

Posted by BIOHazard87 on 12-12-2006 12:34 AM:

i care about the movies itself, not dumb extra's that id never watch. I'd much rather have an untouched video rls than an almost-untouched rls with extra's

KEEEPER!

Posted by 3am on 12-12-2006 12:42 AM:

Jc100 thanks for the headsup. i too hate it when groups neglect to mention what's been stripped.. without extras, think i'll just grab the xvid rls instead

Posted by Viper400 on 12-12-2006 01:15 AM:

Normally I would not say anything, but I think this is more of a question then a comment.

If a movie is tagged as unrated, does that not mean it has the extra's including the additional footage added to the feature movie?

Even if you kept the additional footage in the feature movie, to me, unrated means it would have all the other additional extra's typically associated with a movie release?

Is it just my way of thinking, or am I indeed right? No matter what, they should list what is kept and what is stripped. (never read the nfo)

Viper, you are correct. Unrated means they add the additional footage to the feature film.
Far as the extras and deleted scenes being cut out of this release, there is no difference whether the release is unrated or "original".

Posted by toddvj on 12-12-2006 01:37 AM:

A movie being unrated has nothing to do with whether there are extras or not. It means there is extra footage (in the main movie itself) that wasn't shown in theaters.

Posted by Jc100 on 12-12-2006 01:46 AM:

Just a comment. It's a preference... But in my opinion, I'd rather TGP cced it down some, with the bitrate suffering a bit.. to keep the extras intact.... To remove the best parts of the movie in order to keep the video untouched is wrong in my opinion. For a movie like this, losing those features is a HUGE LOSS... This is the type of movie you want everything to be there...

Posted by BIOHazard87 on 12-12-2006 02:25 AM:

go download your lower qual. xvid then if you want some dumb extra's

Posted by Klonin on 12-12-2006 02:37 AM:

Arguing over the internet is like running in the Special Olympics even if you win you are still retarded.

Video - 9 need best bit rate for larger TVs, cut the crap u watch once
Audio - 9 nothing special

Movie - One eyed snakes have no place playing w/ 2 eyed snake.

Biohazard your comment makes no sense and seems like an unthought jab to get the last word in. No xvid has extras its just the main movie.

Stripping special features to keep the main movie untouched is the way to go. If you want extra's either go buy it or download the eventual dvd9.

V- 10
A- 9
M- 8 - pretty good but didn't like the opening as much as the last one or the ending.

Posted by _jadakiss on 12-12-2006 05:46 AM:

there is NOTHING wrong wit this release... video is UNTOUCHED... audio is AWESOME.. and movie is fuckin FUNNY!... now.. if u want the extras.. hey.. go buy the fuckin movie.. dont complain if the group didn't leave em.. so get over it.. and buy it... !

TGP could have done this a lot better. Menu is shit. 7 buttons not blanked that should have been. Annoying preview of NORBIT comes up before the menu appears.

And almost 600mb of previews [Norbit/Babel/The Last kiss/Jack Black] could have been blanked out and the space used for deleted extras from this movie.

Yea, movie quality is fine, but some great extras are gone that could have been on this release.

This movie should get an Internal release that would kick this one's ass.

Rating this for the movie only [not as a total DVD]

9
8
3 [this shit is SICK]

agreed. trailers are useless, and they should have removed them to keep some bonus features atleast.

9/9/7

Its FREE

Its not BAD

Its OK for NOW

No doubt another goup will attempt a 'proper', so until (or IF) that happens this is fine.
As with all things in life, one mans shit is another mans gold - and while we'll probably never agree on the removed extras debate, we can at least thank our lucky stars that someone actually bothered to provide this release in the first place!

V 10
A 9
M 8

This one is different from usual, the video quality on this for the biggest part is pretty poor anyway, so you'd be hard pushed to tell the difference between the two, prob hard pushed to tell the difference compared to the XviD either.

Strip out The Making Of Docu's if you have to, but Deleted Scenes and Out-Takes would probably of been better on this, as with a movie like this, they are more part of the Movie, than an extra.

Apart from the trailers and the authoring mess ups this is fine anyway.

8/8/8

Agreed Redemption....

With a movie like jackass, the video isnt supposed to be a showpiece of your TV. I'm sure we would all care less what the video looks like on this release to a degree.....

The inclusion of the trailers boggles the mind...

Though I wont fault, TGP for this as they have done some solid releases...but it would have been nice to have kept the extras.

V: 7
A: 8
M: 9.5 Probably one of the best pranks ever created is in this film

Okay, so I think I understand....

There is no rules if you would for releasing the "unrated" or other type of special edition releases.

Too bad, would have loved to have rules for that. Release a retail theatrical version, and a release for a special edition or unrated edition.

That would have been cool. Oh well, thanks for helping me to understand. Movie is good quality. Enjoyed it.

Posted by y0himba on 12-12-2006 07:50 PM:

This is not a DVD. It's a movie, period. A DVD includes at least some extras. To rip the gag reel and delete or extended scenes form a DVD like this is pure folly. This DVD is ruined regardless of video quality.

Besides, the quality hit to the video from the extras here is not noticeable at all, even on an LCD HDTV.

Too many groups are are slaughtering DVDs in order for fast releases or "video quality". A DVD release is not about main video quality only, but about releasing a DVD experience.

I am waintg for the DVD9 or proper. Better yet, I am just going to buy it.

Unrated just means that it has not been rated by the MPAA. End of.

Video is excellent, sound is good, movie is ok.

Nice release.

Posted by budx55 on 12-13-2006 04:45 PM:

Not only was 600mb's previews left in, but also 217 mb of duplicate cells. Add in the Paramout logo, photo gallery and music video and there's almost 900mb of space that could have been used for the deleted scenes, outtakes and additional segments.

They also left in all the unused buttons. Very half-assed job by TGP.

v 10 (perfect quality, which is what to be expected with untouched video)

a 10 (same again)

m 9 (excellent, even better than the first)

good quality release, but the menu buttons which link to the removed content havent been disabled, which fucks things up slightly. and also, i domt have a clue why they substituted some extras for 10 minutes of annoying trailers, i'd rather have the extras.

ah well, still a decent release either way, i hope theres a proper soon.

encoding software is the equivalent of The 404 going on a diet and walking thru the door. takes longer and sometimes more skill, but ultimately worth it.

outakes and deleted scenes should have been kept but there is no need for a proper. menu buttons will take about 30 seconds to disable so no problems there. will watch when i get round to it.
