transformers

is this the flaite xvid or is it encoded to dvd-r .nice work mVs .by the way your nfo needs changing now getting a bit lame
a . 8 m.10 v 8

Posted by Asterisk on 09-23-2007 12:24 AM:

Similar to the quality of the xvid.

Something not quite right with the video, quality could be better. Doesn't quite look like retail quality. Audio is awesome though.

If this is all there is to offer, best waiting for a dvd9/hd.

Posted by chaotic646 on 09-23-2007 12:47 AM:

The video could be a lot better, but for some reason they decided to leave in two extra audio tracks. Definitely wait for a better rip.

Posted by Brisse on 09-23-2007 01:16 AM:

This is not MVS they stole from p2p just try to write transformers dvdr in google, this 1 comes up without the MVS name, from a spannish guy.

V8

m8

This should be reriped cause of 3 audio tracks.

I have that one and it is no doubt a dvd rip. The menu gives you options on audio tracks and subtitles. The picture is good, not great. The sound is perfect. I don't think you will get much better video on a dvd5 because the movie is so visually demanding. As for what group released it i don't know. It didn't have a name.

Posted by the___line on 09-23-2007 02:17 AM:

Well of course you're going to be able to get better video on the DVD5 if you remove the other 2 non needed audio tracks.....

V - 6
A - 9.5
M - 8

better rip of the video needed on this one, especially being such a visually stunning film.

Posted by StomperX on 09-23-2007 03:08 AM:

Talking

doesn't look like it's from a DVD9 source.

V=7
A=8
M=9

.. and I do agree with the .nfo design. It's really kinda ol'. Get with "SAC" to hook your group up, man! or get with fumita at ARTCORE, if ya'll can find that ascii artist. There you can't go wrong.

Posted by Filthy_Rich on 09-23-2007 04:24 AM:

this will do for me till i get my own retail copy

Nice job overall dunno bout the source but the picture looks pretty nice on the TV. This will do great for now but I plan to purchase this movie . And to mVs I know some ASCii artists

Rated as R1 Retail

This dvd-r is nothing at all like the xvids and those that say it is are idiots.....or perhaps just don't have either files........thx mVs this kicks ass over the xvid's
V-9.5
A-9.5
M-9

comes with full menu so yeah its a real dvdrip

as for the___line giving 6 for video lmfao.......guess i can ignore all your future comments now that i know yer a fool.......could the video be better sure in a miniscule way but to give this a 6 = yer a 0

Posted by budx55 on 09-23-2007 12:44 PM:

It also has all the audio tracks and extras kept.

It's obvious it was done with Dvdshrink or another "one-clicker".

Posted by wrist on 09-23-2007 01:14 PM:

Video looked pretty good on my daughters 28" CRT but on my upscaled 50" plasma there was a lot of blocking and aliasing at times. Sound was fkn awesome. Went to the fliks for this and it rocked.

Pic - 7ish. Seen a lot better.
Sound 10 Fkn Awesome
Flik 8.5 Exceeded my expectations to be honest. And that Fox bird well....Wowza

Stop the bitchin and just rate the fkn release. Reminds me of that one clicker of Dead Mans Chest but this is considerably better.

Watched the sample and the picture, while very crisp, jerks through the whole thing.

Shame really, certainly not watchable for me.

saw it at the flicks and thought it was the best film i had seen in ages. park your arse and leave your brain at home !

Having very strange issues with this release, trailers and a featurette seem to be on the disk. Cant view the end chapter as it just skips to a trailer for Iron Man, then a Transformers trailer and then a small bonus feature.
Anyone confirm that these are on the disk?

There not on my copy, the only options on the menu are Play, Set Up and Scene Selection. It played seamlessly from start to finnish for me

@ Francis Frogbound, i didnt see the sample, but the movie doesnt jerk at all

Posted by robbery199 on 09-23-2007 10:07 PM:

Just a follow up of earlier post, reburnt at super slow speed n the video played perfectly throughout.
The video quality is horrible, when upscaled to 1080p on a 50 inch lcd its more blocks than movie.
Can still access the trailers n extras using dvdplayers internal menu. Anyone else found these???????

No way am I gonna download 4.5 gigs supplied by mvs, they are shite, they just haven't got a clue what "quality" means!

Posted by payeco on 09-24-2007 01:39 AM:

I'll use this release just to watch it, but I'm not going to burn it until someone does a proper release. There are 850 megs of space wasted on non English audio and subs, not to mention all the extras, which is just ridiculous. A movie of this length with this many visuals and high action sequences needs everything stripped except 5.1 English audio. The menu animation needs to be replaced with static images or the menus should be stripped altogether. Otherwise it needs to be released as a DVD9.

When blown up to full screen on my 1600x1200 LCD monitor the quality is very, very underwhelming compared to other recent DVDR releases.

V 5.5
A 10
M Haven't watched the whole thing through yet.

Posted by velocity on 09-24-2007 03:20 AM:

considering this is a low bitrate DVDR:

v-7 (blocky in some areas, not good for large screens)
a-9 (nice! wish they stripped the useless audio)
m-10 (saw it in theaters, amazing movie)

for those of you who have not seen this movie, this will do just fine (if you watch it in a small screen). otherwise, this movie needs to be released in DVD9. but, to really fully enjoy the VFX value of the movie, you need to watch it in HD-DVD with full 5.1+ surround sound on blast!

nfo says R1, but from what I understand, this format release was only found in R4, would explain why it looks so rushed.

not bad for an mVs release, but not great either.

Posted by KroZpOz on 09-24-2007 03:41 AM:

V: 6 - (viewed on 42" LCD HDTV Upscaled to 1080i via HDMI) Noticeable artifacts during demanding action scenes. In my opinion it appears to be transcoded, but I cannot be sure considering the already below average bitrate, due to multiple audio tracks. If you haven’t already seen this film then I would wait for a release properly encoded w/ higher average bitrate.
A: 9
M: 8 - Decent plot considering the subject matter, spectacular CGI, and U.S. Military hardware in action like only Director Michael Bay can deliver.

ima co-sign on that and give this video a 4 just because the bitrate could have been higher but because this wasn't mVs source of course it didnt get done the right way

audio a 10 because it has spanish AND english and the movie a 10 cause it was badass

::ModEdit: Don't talk about where you find shit... and the TV talk really needs to stop::

Upscaled to 1080I on 42" LCD still looks good,

Nvere got chance to watch it. Tried to watch upscaled through my PS3 on my 42" Plasma and was too blocky. Audo was brilliant though.
