What are you guys all talking about. I just watched CTP's rls and it was perfectly fine, quality rls by CTP. Yeah that camera angle was alittle weird, but barly noticable. This rls really isn't needed.......But anyways..... checked the sample 9/9/7

Posted by Mekapo on 03-18-2003 05:35 AM:

sample is nice 9/9/1 The movie is absolutley horrible tho. I watched this in the theater and almost left in the middle. I value my money so i don't like walking out on films but this one tried my patience. It was too damn corny, and just bugged me. Well anyhoo if u HAVE to watch it go with this one

Posted by EccoDomi on 03-18-2003 06:09 AM:

Just watched sample. Great quality. "Jay Leno Filter" haha. nice one. Now I just hope the movie is good. My rating: 8/8/?

Posted by Movieguy on 03-18-2003 06:16 AM:

Well

Just picked up the sample and the picture is kinda weak and sound is kinda weak as well so for a telecine i give it a

7/7/

A little weird? What are you on? It looked like a fish-eye lense positioned at an 87 degree angle below the screen and to the left.

Great telecine. Sound could be better, but excellence nonetheless. The movie is some really piss-poor propoganda, though. And it looked so good.

8/7/1

damn....VideoCD suprises the croud once again!
Nice job keep it up

Posted by B16A2 on 03-18-2003 06:40 AM:

ouch, tough crowd. I retract my last post, I reviewed the sample again and it seems the video has some wierd interlace type lines which make it look horrible in some scenes, motion blur & pixelation on slight movement, dull colors, and OMG the audio is low/muffled (had to turn this mofo up past half way to get audible sound). 6/5/4... yes bob, that's my final answer (judging as a telecine vs. the telesync)

first of all it is a TC not a TS or a TS proper, so they can release it if they want...second you say it isnt needed but rate it 9/9!

The only part i agree with was 9/9, video was great and same for audio.

<snip>
however it is NOT interpolated 23.976FPS º
º transferred from reel film
-=-
could u explain the cigarette burns throughout the movie if its not from the reel?
either way
Jay Leno Filter == ON
which is very good. audio is sligthly lower than your average TC from VideoCD (think 8 crazy nights <-> better than stealing harvard TC)
i for one like the TC's they rls
video = 7 - pretty heaving pixelation
audio = 5 - muffled, just turn down bass and the screams of the ppl getting shot are much better.
film = this movie blew ass. i wish there were more war movies like Full Metal Jacket, or Apocolypse Now. I guess those days are long gone.

video cds rls

Over all nice. 8/8? I dunno. I have ctps and it seems decent. But Somone mentioned it being filmed with a fish eye lense, I dont think they used one, but that might be a good idea. If you use fisheye lenses (not the ones made bye century optics) on some of the cheaper ons you can zoom in. You could sit in the front row, zoom in and it would look decent. ;P Videocd is not a bad group! I think they contribute to the scene positivly. So what if a couple rls suck. Evry group has thier crappy rls' days, its just how it goes. I think video cd is doing a decent job. Keep up the good work!

Nice release, widescreen ... got the Typical Screener Rolling numbers Tops Right throught the movie. Few times on the movie the picture goes to the black and white and displays the "property of ... etc". Other then that Picture is good and sound is excellent.

8/7/1 seems about right, i just feel sorry for anyone who even thought it was gonna be a watchable movie in the first place... and i dont mean pic/sound qual either

VIDEO: Good
AUDIO: Good

MOVIE: What I find annoying lately about Bruce Willis is that he seems to be losing his range as far as acting ability. He can't get the tough guy/Clint Eastwood squinty eyed look off his face. Sad that his acting was actually better in films like Die Hard and the TV series Moonlighting. Then we have Monica Bellucci as the hot doc. It seems she was cast to bounce her boobs in front of the camera and create the sense that she'd straddle Bruce Willis in the jungle at any given moment. What they should've done was cast someone who could act. Instead we get sexual eye candy. And I admit, while Monica is very nice to look at, a Jodie Foster type would've done much better with this role.

7/7/5

Posted by BadAss1273 on 04-01-2003 04:44 AM:

Posted by Rezneck on 04-03-2003 12:31 PM:

yea half decent rls, bad the movie itself bites. I'd say bruce has to sort himself out.
