Superchargemytorrent
Sounds almost too good to be true. Views plse.

I rarely use torrents tbh.
Maybe for a small app or something but that's about it.
Also if your going to pay 5 a month for torrents why not pay 11 for newsgroups,no way will this be as fast, your still relying on uploaders.only thing I use torrents for is if I can,t find a certain software on usenet, never movies or music
quote:Well said... If you're going to pay you may as well switch to Newsgroups considering the speed and security they provide for just a few £s more. None of that uploading bullshit either.

Interesting. My feckin ISP from 4:30 in the PM to 2:00 in the AM throttles as in 7% of of my paid for download speed. Do newsgroups negate? If so it may be a go.
Do they throttle the entire connection or just fuck with torrents? If it's the latter, go for it! You might want to pay the couple of quid extra and get a secure usenet connection so your ISP doesn't know fuck all about what you're doing though, in case they also block/throttle usenet (uncommon but I think some ISPs do)

I use torrents for bulk backlogs of TV shows but I get sick of seeders disappearing or shit being misnamed.
Very little of what I want can't be found on Newsgroups.
Virgin Media throttle as I remember after 10:00AM up to (I think) 8:00PM on all connections including NG but you can usually get 4-7GB before they twig. My cap goes down from 20MB to 4.5.
I use torrents for everything , got a private site which has alot of members so the speed is always excellent. Almost everything I grab maxes out my 20mb connection , it's rare that i'll have to wait long for whatever it is I grab.
So this new thing and newsgroups can suck my balls.

Virgin throttle even using SSL connections...hence why I fucked them off as soon as BT where doing line installs for £29.
Now i'm on bethere getting an un-throttled 24mb connection for a dam sight less...and the rest
Never could get into torrents, although if there is something i'm reallllly struggling to get i might give them a try.

but i've just got my hdx box (like a popcornhour but sexier) downloading it whilst it's sat there sleeping

The problem with torrents, no matter how private they are, they're still insecure. There's always a big chance that you can get caught sharing.
Any time i have used torrents (which is extremely rare) i leech what i want then turn it off. fuck all that uploading and fuck torrents
In defence of BT, it was the only place I could get S04E01 of Come Dine With Me, had to sign up at a shit site to get the feed though - only one place had it
Some good comments but let's get back to the subject of the thread. This thingy claims:
"Wrapping your connections in a SOCKS tunnel limits the amount of packet inspection your ISP can do on a real time level. Additionally all the traffic is limited to a single IP address and a single port number. To your ISP, it just looks like you are surfing a single web site really hard or connected to a corporate VPN, thus they do not enable traffic shaping on your connection which means full speed ahead."
"With your torrent data wrapped into a neutral protocol and hidden behind our proxy servers, nobody can tell who you are or what you are downloading."
This and this only is of interest to me. Views plse.
Keep using torrents plse.

Sure you're bypassing traffic shaping algorithms by the isp but at the same time you're paying for a proxy that 1) links your finanical data to torrent downloading and 2) relies on the proxy's connection to insure the good 'speed' they are promising. Although I'm sure it works fine to bypass traffic shaping, I'd rather not do that.

Ah the battle is joined. Or is it ? Not keen on disposing of jackasses. Specially those of the tardy variety. Nah. Not worth the effort.
