Very Nice Quality

A great release of a movie where only a sucky cam was available. The colors are awesome and the sound appears on from the little bit I've seen so far. Wanted to see this for some time and finally I can watch it. Unless a sync issue pops up, I'd grabbed this one.

Good quality, good movie. They mostly mix Russian/English short phrases, say something in Russian and repeat it in English. So no translation necessary. There is one longer scene in Russian but you will get the point.

somebody phone Ahmadinejad .. this needs to be NUKED for NO SUBTITLES! (this DOES have subtitles in the theatre)

There is a subfix out for this...

There's one person saying there was no theatrical subs and another person saying there was theatrical subs!!

Therefore I've no idea whether its worth downloading this or waiting.

Just to give this post some relevancy I checked the sample and things look very good all the same.

Let’s see. IMDb 8/10 (11,268 viewers), RT 8.9/10 (169 reviewers), and Ebert 4/4 stars (viewers 3.5/4 stars). All reputable, all judge this to be a very high quality movie. For me a decent movie. Strong acting except Watts, and enough Mafioso gore. But no where near the caliber of “The Godfather” series. Movie 7.0.

I watched without subs and it doesn't affect the film not to have them there aren't many Russian spoken parts that aren't obvious or explained afterwards.

Video: 7 - don't get me wrong, Video quality is outstanding for most of the movie, Cocain did a really good encoding job. What's not so good is the source in some places. Picture looks washed out/colors look wrong (a little bit reddish) in these scenes. I assume it has to do with color correction gone wrong. That's especially noticeable in the scene the driver/Nikolai brings back Annas motorcycle at around 0:52:20. Subs weren't really important IMO, but it was nice to know what's going on in these scenes. So all you dyslexic folks can enjoy this movie, too.

Audio: 8 - it's Stereo MP3. Nuff said. Just a small question: how wise is it, having 48 kHz Audio, when you encode it to a MP3 that cuts off all frequencies above 16 kHz anyways?

Movie: 7 - really good mob movie with a lot of violence. But comparisons to the Godfather were a bit far fetched, IMHO. It's really good, but it's not great. Some character's decisions were not coherent for me, for example. But maybe I'll have to watch it a second time...

Just finished watching and this was a good all around R5

A - 9 - just dl the subfix its 10k for cryin out loud and prob about 1/6 the movie is Russian interwoven in with the English, its nice to know exactly what they are saying

M- 8 it was really good movie that for me came out of nowhere; I never saw a preview for it here in the states which is too bad.

Just finished watching it, good rip and audio (slight fuckup in the audio around 40mins for 1 sec or so lol).
Film itself was a bit shit, like a TV movie. How the fuck you can rate a film like that a 9 is beyond me!. Ending was fucking shit too. I always pick crap films to watch on a sunday night ffs.

Video is very crisp for such low specs.
There is an occasional black spot that appears at the upper right.

The audio starts out with someone saying a credit and then you hear it make some type of switch.
About halfway through the movie, it garbles for a few seconds.

The movie was pretty good except for a couple of scenes that were done badly...

The thing that happens right after the pissing on the grave.

Shooting Naomi riding the bike but you can tell she's on a flatbed.

One last point is kudos for the subs. They are only for the non-English parts unlike many subs that are put out.
