know about video cameras ?

will be shooting a short and i was wondering if anyone here could help me choose between the CANON XL1s or the PANASONIC AG-DVX100 A

i was thinking of going with the PAN cause it comes with a 8" monitor but end result is what counts

any thoughts ?

While I have never used either camera personally, I have seen the video taken from the Pan. A local boy shot an entire 1.5 hour movie with it and I saw the footage as he edited it together. I was quite impressed with the quality. I know that this doesnt help much, but just my input on what I have expereinced. If I were to buy one, I would buy the Pan.

hehe if you were to buy one i would suggest you take a look at what the XL1s can do

i will be renting the equipment and those are the choices... no money for HD lol

my last short I shot with Betacam SP wich was a cool experience

:: ok so there is a new addition to the equation, the SONY DSR PD170 DVCAM

so to recap... the SONY DSR PD170 DVCAM, the PANASONIC AG-DVX100A or the CANON XL1s
