6.2gb onto 8.5 gb

i have recently acquired a film which is 6.2 gb and after encoding it with roxio i keep getting error messages in the final stages of writing to the ritek 8.5 gb disk using the double layer pioneer writer. What will the problem be the disk ? the writer ? or roxio not recognising the 8.5 gb disk ? anyone any ideas please or do they know of another program i could use that does recognise the 8.5 gb disks

The description of your problem is extremely broad. What, exactly, is the error message? Umm... it could be any number of things- but most likely it's the burner or the software not liking the disk. Food for thought:
1) Pioneer is not the most reliable company for hardware
2) Roxio is just... not good.

Post a few more details and I'll gladly help ya best I can.

I'm new to this but have you made sure the files are not getting split over the first and second layers
