can your hard one write.

I mean what is the average fastest DL speed at which an average HD can keep up with?

As a simple answer:

Example:

The western digital Raptor 150GB sata drive runs at 10K RPMs. It has an average WRITE seek time (the time it takes for the write heads to travel across the platters) of 5.2ms. Which means that it can average about 1.5Gb/s write throughput. So unless your connection and computer sends data across the bus faster than 1.5Gb/s then your drive would have no problem keeping up with your connection.


These numbers will vary by drive and in no way should they be applied as a benchmark for your personal machine.
