Menus with DVD Rips

I see that many DVD rips that come out have a very bare bones version of a menu (like I Am Legend). Just some music, simple rollovers, but no animation, keeping the menu portion to just a few MB. Others (like The Mist) have animation but some features are still disabled in the menu. Is this done using some professional dvd menu software?

I was ripping a dvd just for fun to see if it would work using DVD Shrink and Ripit4me, i understand how to rip only the actual movie, but didnt know how to do a simplified version of the menu.

PgcEdit is free software that will allow you to disable menu links and remove unwanted extras.

If you need to reduce the size even further, then DVD rebuilder is a better option than DVD shrink.
