Starview (The Box)

I've heard about these things giving access to all the pay digital channels. Is this true? I'm thinking of getting one off eBay.

I wouldn't actually connect it up though cos that would be illegal.

Is there anything else that needs to be done to it once purchased? I ask because some of the sellers give a free F to Coax Adaptor and RS232 Serial Cable.

Just curious though. This is all "in theory" because I wouldn't actually do anything illegal with it. Honest.

I naturally assumed that you're merely wishing to avoid wear-and-tear on your legally obtained smartcard, therefore using an alternative like this is an excellent backup

Be careful what you discuss in this thread though folks... Software, cables and "kit" related info is fine but anybody posting links to decryption keys or similar will be footed (which is like being fisted but I rarely cut my toenails).

The serial cable is just to update the firmware.

Virgin fooked up a lot of boxes fairly recently but within a few days new custom firware was on the internet.
