RCE encoded DVD's

What's the story with RCE movies on DVD? Is it possible to play, say, an RCE R1 DVD on an R2 machine? Any way to bypass it? Will RCE disks play on a DVD-ROM drive?

Any info appreciated.

i think ur talkin about regions.....
if u are then different dvd players have a certain thing u have to do to enter some setup mode and select regions
example: On the remote control, press PAUSE, then 3 - 1 - 4
- 1 - 5 - 9

It's cool dude, thanks for the info. I wanted to rip an R1 RCE DVD. It was a pain at first, but i got there in the end. I had to flash the DVD-ROM firmware and manually edit the extracted IFO files and stuff. It's a little different to standard ripping, but i got there in the end.
