Posted by Jono on 01-31-2002 03:09 AM:

Posted by cobra on 01-31-2002 03:21 AM:

Posted by iownyouall on 01-31-2002 03:30 AM:

waht does interlaced mean? reencoded?

Posted by Div on 01-31-2002 03:46 AM:

Nice release!
Already saw the sample, downloading it as we speak :P
It is indeed interlaced, but well you cant expect a screener to be retail dvd quality heh.
And besides, you won't notice anything of the interlacing on a television anyway.

iownyouall, look here for an explanation of interlacing.

TCF, FASTempire & TWC keep up the DVD Screener madness!!

Re: ??

yes just because he doesn't like one group makes him gay.... dumbass. and u don't have to be an english teacher here

Posted by plonk420 on 01-31-2002 08:19 AM:

interlaced (on SVCD) = normal NTSC video with 3:2 pulldown.. has tendency to get desynched and look flickery and crappy on some players
interlaced (on VCD) = if done shittily, interlacing blends, well, interlaced frames together, so motion looks, well, gay. and scene changes are fucked as well.

Posted by NeRo on 01-31-2002 08:27 AM:

okay...

this is to WiNnErPL with his two cents "yes just because he doesn't like one group makes him gay.... dumbass. and u don't have to be an english teacher here"

no if he doesn't like a group, that doesn't make him gay. What does is the fact he is trying to shoot down a very good group that is contributing to this scene. No one gives a fuck who he doesn't like or what he doesn't download. We wanna hear about that particular release, and how good or bad it is. So don't call me a dumbass cause I made your buddy feel stupid. Get off his damn jock....

damn I still managed not to call you a stupid ass name...

Great Movie

I must say that this was the best movie i've seen in a long time! And the rip is totally okay. It worked for me and my bigscreen

Posted by Darea on 02-03-2002 08:13 PM:

Comparing to Amelie or Lords of the Rings this is pretty weak release cause it looses it sync while camera moves. I guess it could have been done better. Besides that it is a great movie.

Posted by rodney on 02-04-2002 02:02 AM:

damn all these dvd screeners lately look better then this. i feel raped for downloading the 30mb sample of this. i dont know what interlacing and shit is but this looks blury to me. it isnt that bad if you want the movie.

Posted by Towzzer on 02-04-2002 09:35 AM:

great encode

I was reading all this interlaced crap and i wasn't sure if i would enjoy the quality

thank god windvd 3.0 has a built in deinterlacer

I gave it a 9 cause it looks great as i see it
but not a 10 since i understand what others with
apex dvd players are going through

dvd screeners-i gotta love them

*Cross my fingers for epsiode 2 prior to release date

Posted by R_I_P on 02-05-2002 02:55 PM:

Good release

Cant believe this has such a low rating. Just watched watched it and video and audio was great. Not perfect, but still pretty damn good.

Posted by Darea on 02-05-2002 03:26 PM:

Just compare to some other releases. Some other cons: cant burn it to 80 min cdrw, cant watch it on regular standalone dvd, cant even fixed it by using vcdgear and nero. Quality is also no the greatest, so that just add up to the final score. I think, it is fair.

Posted by Div on 02-05-2002 03:45 PM:

I have absolutely no problems here...
Burns fine, extracts fine (i used vcdxrip) and plays fine at my comp (windvd) + pioneer dv444.

The ones who don't get it to work are probably doing something wrong.

Posted by [hC] on 02-07-2002 04:01 AM:

The movie *is* blurred. If you put it on a standalone DVD player the movements are somewhat jerky / blurry.

Other than that the movie is fine, and my sister even watched it despite the not-so-perfect quality.
