Good rls from POT Plan to see more TS from them 8/9/9

Posted by vegasguy on 05-18-2004 09:14 AM:

Hi,

Just watch the sample, and talk about extreme widescreen! Sheez!

But the video quality looks good, slight blur, but looks pretty damn good, audio has a slight hollow effect.

V: 6 (extreme Wide)
A: 8 (Touch of hollow)
M: 9 (Saw it in the theaters , good flick, not as good as Gladiator)

Posted by lesleyt on 05-18-2004 12:12 PM:

This has been nuked on my site

Does this release have the start titles and the complete movie?

Posted by crackerjax on 05-18-2004 02:58 PM:

ewwww ... bad ar, yes extreme widescreen, wide heads ...

I think I might wait for a better release of this

just watched a little bit of the 2nd CD to get a quality sample ... not the best, not the worst ... but I can't get over the squished, wide heads .... sorry PoT

/end rant

Posted by blackster on 05-18-2004 03:17 PM:

Not a bad attempt by POT for the second release, unfortuantly went a little overboard with the widescreen, the characters head look like they suffer from hydrocephalus.

6/6/7

Awaiting for a better TS

Videocd has just released a version of it svcd with dts sound again maybe you should check that b4 heading for this

Video: 7
Audio: 6.5
Movie: 8

Posted by AddNtoX on 05-18-2004 05:03 PM:

meh video cd need to turn of their autofocus i just grabbed cd1 seems to go in n out of focus. POT rls is ok, its what they said it was in their nfo. didnt look squished on my monitor, i guess some ppl r picky. 6/6/?

Posted by ^Om3n on 05-18-2004 05:43 PM:

I don't plan to get any version of this flick right now, but ill ask the question im sure others are wondering. Is the VideoCD version the better choice, or should people stick with this release?

Anyway bad AR, pic is slightly burry, and audio is a touch hollow on this release, pretty good considering the source, and POT being a new release group!

Nevermind, VideoCD version showed up, oppps hehehe now I see it, will download and comment on it later! Sorry this is about!

Hmmm

Good Job POT , pretty much viewer's choice. Lets compair.

FEZVCD = missing scenes, annoying audience , avoid.

POT = wierd A/R kind of really wide , mild background noise, Other then picture being wide good color and sounds good.

VideoCD = Nice Picture, Great Sound as usual. AutoFocus made the movie go blurry, not blurry, blurry, not blurry. NFO states they needed to brighten their copy but now the desert scene you cant really see as its too bright.

Movie = Runtime: 163 min (2 hours 43 mins) with credits

Troy.CAM-FEZVCD
CD1 = 1 hr 16 min 40 sec
CD2 = 1 hr 10 min 1 sec
= 2 hr 26 min 41 sec

Troy.TS-POT
CD1 = 1 hr 18 min 38 sec
CD2 = 1 hr 15 min 07 sec
= 2 hr 33 min 45 sec

Troy.SVCD.TELESYNC-VideoCD
CD1 = 48 min 55 sec
CD2 = 48 min 3 sec
CD3 = 55 min 18 sec
= 2 hr 32 min 16 sec

So Comes down to how bad you want to see this , mpeg1 , or mpeg2. Give props to POT for a new group releasing a nice copy of this movie. As the nfo states quote: "this copy was to tide the leechers over untill an SVCD TS or SCREENER gets released", SVCD TS is out now so might as well pick that copy up.

POT's copy:
6/6/?

VideoCD's copy:
7/8/?

from sample, Videocd has much better picture and sound. based on sample though, their audio is a tad out of sync...little behind. going to grab a cd or two to see if its like that in movie too

Posted by BLUE-NEO on 05-18-2004 10:49 PM:

on this release ..I give a 6/7/? Props to POT for this release.
Very nice telesync.

sorry just picked up the videocd release and I give it..

8/9/?
The Picture is a little bright, but the audio is flawless. Videocd rules. Too bad I can't read french..because I didnt understand sh.t in the intro. But overall release is nice..Videocd's telesyncs are so far the best.

pot: 6.5/7 pretty good job

videocd: 8.5/10 sound is perfect as usual.

Posted by XboxFreak on 05-19-2004 06:25 PM:

As much as this comparison has been made with other groups just having 2-3 nice releases and that's it I think it is safe to say VideoCD are where Centropy was a year ago. I'm grabbing the VideoCD one now. Why bother with less when you don't have too? Although I really do appreciate POT's recent efforts and hope they keep it up.

In answer to the question about the vid cd not posting its releases, theres alot of groups not posting on vcdq at the mo (shrek 2 any1?)
remember the 60mins thing !!!

Posted by bcool2k on 05-20-2004 07:11 AM:

Not bad for a tS attempt, unfortunatel VideoCD was hot on their heels...Came out soon after.. Better than Cam, not as good as TS SVCD VideoCD.. Keep trying POT.. UR doing gr8. Takes time to learn. Thanx for keeping the scene alive..

After watching both Videocd and Pot release. While pot doesn't have the great sound, I like the picture better than Videocd. The WS doesn't bother me at all, and they don't look like their fighting in the snow.

Pot 7.5/5/9.5
Videocd 6/9/9.5

Posted by Snowimagination on 05-20-2004 09:32 PM:

Where'd the VideoCD release of Troy go??

The group of VideoCD did a release of Troy that is far better then Pot or any other group to date. I'm wanting it now:

VideoCD Release:

Video: 8

Audio: 9

Movie: 7

Posted by split710 on 05-21-2004 10:30 AM:

re

VideoCD release (3 SVCD) its impossible to watch it....

TOOOOOOOOOOOO BLINDING for the 50% of the movie.

ciao

I agree. It might be heresy (since VideoCD ownz right now) but this release is better. The sound isn't THAT bad on this release, and the quality of picture here- widescreen and all- is much better than VideoCD's way over-exposed version. Score one for POT. Or score some pot. You decide.

Just finished watching the VideoCD release of this film and the dark scenes are perfect. Unfortunately most of the film is shot in bright daylight. Some scenes require guess work to figure out whats going on. As TS's go I've seen worse.

Audio. Truely stunning. Spot on 10 /10. Very deep bass good treble presence.

Film itself. Well its ok if you like this sort of thing. Read the Illiad its far more entertaining.
