From sampling a few .rar's this looks like an excellent rls. wont completely rate until ive viewed in entirety, but a prelim rating on vid would be 9 and also a 9 on audio.

the scene has definitely been ON POINT over the past month....an extreme improvement from what we were seeing 4 or 5 months ago.

Hopefully there arent any flaws in this complete release, as SAOSiN's TS was decent, but when viewed on standalones and big screens, a few of my friends complained of the graininess and whatnot, so this is a much anticipated rls that hopefully won't disappoint.

Props to NBP for their hard work this week...it's well appreciated!

this is definitely SAOSiN's release. It is cropped a great deal and in same way as SAOSiN's. for example when it shows the date at the begining, it shows mber 13, 1974 just like in SAOSiN's release.

Wish I would've read this forum before downloading ..this is NOT a telecine or its just horribly cropped, it literaly cuts of "November 1974" to the point you only see "ber 1974" (screenshot below) , The video quality isnt horrible ,seems slightly better than the Saosin release but that was a SVCD ,this could just be the same source with less compression being its on dvd, I did notice a wierd pixelation around edges in this release ,its like it was recorded through a Composite source rather than svideo etc.

Anyhow its not worth it if you already have Saosins release.

have to admit that this isn't as good as some folk say it is. its more like a telesync than a telecine (even then its not the best)

I dont wanna start an arguement here , just have to disagree with this being a reencode of SASOiN's TS.

At first i thought yes this was a reencode also when i seen the left side of the screen had the exact same cut and missing letters on the left side of the screen , BUT when you get to the end of NBP's TELECiNE its complete all the way to the end of the credits , unlike SAOSiN's TS.

Coincidence , more then likley but not a reencode.

As far as a TELECiNE goes, just like alot of the TELECiNE's latley , the screen shakes, its grainy but overall very watchable. Only difference between SAOSiN's TS and NBP's TC is; minus the flicker but plus the grainy/blockyness

I already have SAOSiN's TS and its a crappy movie, so no need for me to download this one, Good try though NBP , good to see more grps with nice sources.

I'll admit that I didn't skip to the end of the movie, but still, it looks exactly the same (the AR). I think that the quality of this one is very poor, and in no way "excellent."

OK for those that say TCs arn't cropped as you can see from this 1 it most certainly is cropped. Is it a fake TC though? well no i don't think it is because of the picture clarity. it's much more clearer than SAOSiNs TS but it is also dark and not worth bothering with if you have SAOSiNs. you can see for yourself here.. To my mind it doesn't look like SAOSiNs re-encoded (as its much clearer) but its cropped more and dark. plus it starts earlier with the "metro goldwyn" lion roar and runs longer at the end. an also the on screen text is not at a tilt like SAOSiNs. So this shows that it is different and i think it is a TC but not a particulaly good 1.

Whilst comparing the 2 i compared the audio also..
I know SAOSiN have been quick off the mark for accusing people for stealing their audio and have been wrong on occasion but this time they will be fully justified in flaming NBP as this is most certainly SAOSiNs audio used in this. Easy to tell with headphones on as you can hear the EXACT same high pitch whine in the background.

Not worth bothering with if you have seen saosins. And most deffinatly should be nuked on 2 counts. (over cropped/stolen audio)

Picture = 6 (dark but clear over cropped though)
Audio = 0 (stolen)
movie = 5

As an extra note for those that think TCs are never cropped. You should go compare SAOSiNs Sahara TC with the DVDScr and you will see that TC is also cropped to quite a degree.

I may have jumped to conclusions...and I may just be an idiot. Still the quality looks bad, but I did check it on a 50 inch TV I think it was. I don't like the colors said above, they're dark. What a waste of two cds, but it was my fault.

I wonder how they managed losing quality instead of improving quality when you release a self-proclaimed "real Tc???" and the source is SAOSIN?

A Decent movie,as for quality alot better than saosins.I have both movies here on my pc and i can confirm the audio is NOT the same as there are certain glitches which are diffrent on both audio streams.Anyway keep it up NBP

But if it was you should read more carfull what i was saying.

This is NOT SAOSiNS TS picture.
This IS SAOSiNS Audio.

If they share audio sources then yes this would not make it stolen but i have never heard of NBP and SAOSiN sharing so hence why i said it was stolen. (whether its stolen or not i don't know but as NBP made no thank you to SAOSiN in their NFO i can only presume they robbed it or are supplied by the same source)

When both audio tracks are overlayed they both show almost exactly the same pitch and frequency showing staggering similarities. (at what point are these "glitches" that show it to be different? and remember if there are glitches in NBPs and not saosins then they could of occured when they encoded their TC and would prove nothing)

Anyhow.. it's not a good TC and not worth spending any more effort on when the TS does the job just as well.

I like how you say "show almost exactly the same pitch and frequency" almost isent good enough... audios these days are almost identical and made the same way. This is just a Cheap way of claiming something that isent true. We have seen SAOSIN with there claims before.. And they where UNTRUE. So plz spare me/us from this again. NBP is a good group, done many sources and this is the first you blab about being stolen? we`ll all i can say is that this release is fine. Dont see any problems nor do i hear them! SAOSIN should put in some watermarkings in there audios if they are affraid of groups using it, insted of grying out loud as JUSTIN TIMERLAKE......

Alrighty , its been proven in this thread that this isnt the same picture as SAOSiN's i forgot to mention SAOSiN's TS was also on an angle. Coincidently they both had the exact same cut on the left side , but NBP's copy is about 5 minutes longer then SAOSiN's TS. From the Metro Goldwyn Mayer logo opening scene (Lion), to the DiMENSiON Films logo after the credits.

So if NBP's TC picture is 5 minutes longer, i dont understand how you guys all of a sudden think the audio is stolen. Sure it might sound the same, but the sound has to account for those 5 minutes also. Did NBP magically merge 1 minute of sound onto the beggining and 4 minutes at the end for credits?

keepitfree, i doubt any of these people are from SAOSiN and i doubt that group is targeting NBP. Your post almost quotes TUN's nfo . That whole "JUSTIN TIMERLAKE...... " cry me a river stuff TUN, MoF, METEOR had in their nfos was really dumb , must we be reminded of it again ? , i doubt it gave anyone a laugh.

Final Word:
NBP's TELECiNE is not the same as SAOSiN's TS. Not Only is the picture different as seen in screenshots above , but the audio is also 5 minutes longer then SAOSiN's TS....

.. Lets all get over the accusations and start posting on quality of release again !

It gave me, among many others a pretty good laugh So its hard not to combine SAOSIN with J.TIMBERLAKE. Sorry if you got offended.

Anywayz, as conclusion for this release.. No it`s NOT SAOSIN video. NOT SAOSIN Audio. Some people just never learn do they?

I too wondered the same thing IRC_Moviefan about the extra little sound.
My conclusion is that they simply were supplied the same audio track with NBP using slightly more of it i guess.

As some seem to doubt that they are the same have a look at this Audio Comparison Which shows you in more deatil of how alike they are. The humm being the big tell tale. I didn't have time/couldn't be bothered to filter out all other audio just to leave the hum so you could see it more clearly but you should get the idea. Actual movie soundtracks can sound very similar from release to release as someone here has already said, but when you have 2 that have an encoded defect (in this case the humm) its very easy to assertain whether they are indeed 1 and the same or not due to the fact humms on releases are never the same frequency twice. (let alone the same for the same movie lol)
The final result i was given was that over a 10 minute period of both releases i was shown a 92.4% match. (the only major difference that was found was a few higher dBs on NBP use of it. (which i'm sure you know means nothing)
Pretty high i think you will have to agree.

Maybe not stolen but certainly looks/sounds the same source.

Its amazing people care so much about such a fucking dreadful film. Everyone involved should be killed. Including Ryan Reynolds, who has stabbed me in the back.

Personally, I hope the audio is remotely the same, I don't want to hear Toy Story while watching this.

This looks alot like SAOSINs release from what I seen in the sample, a stolen source with a re-encode and maybe some editing...

Deffinantly not a Telecine.. Should be nuked for a mislable and stolen source.

Audio: 7.5

this is a telecine, just not a brilliant one. its goes all the way the end of the credits, a ts would not because you get all the people walking out, lights coming back on etc. and u would probably get busted if u sat there during the credits with a camera because u would no doubt be seen.
even if it was a ts, its not saosin's because this has all the credits and the MGM logo, no angle and more graininess and a reddish tint. it also cant be saosins audio because this has more audio than theirs at the end so maybe just from the same source. the picture also has a slight shake to it.

anyway, as a tc:

video: 6.5 (looks ts standard)

audio: 9 (no complaints)

Movie: 9 - quite liked it

p.s. plz dont critisize me for my statement, im just saying what i think is true!

Cropped, dark, but good sound. I think I'll stick with SAOSiNs release, the colors seem better (dull, but better). Good release nonetheless, nice work NBP.
