Discuss: Ichi The Killer

Has anybody seen a movie called Ichi The Killer? Is it good? Worth getting?

One time, my cousin Walter got this cat stuck in his ass. True story. He bought it at our local mall so the whole fiasco wound up on the news, it was embarrassing for my relatives and all, but the next week he did it again, different cat, same results, complete with another trip to the emergency room! So I run into him a week later in the mall and he’s buying another cat and I says to ‘em "Jesus Walt, what are you doing? My favorite movie is Waterworld.

This is the MOST disturbing movie ever made (makes it more fun). It revolves around a bunch of hitmen, and what they go thru. Ichi (the title caracter) has blades on his shoes that he uses to kill people, which makes it quite interesing. (even splits a guy in half...other than that I don't want to ruin it for you).


I rate this movie on the scale with movies like battle royale, and such. Excessive violence, gore, and more violence.

If they had a blood-o-meter this flick would be the highest rating, due to the excessive violence and gore.

BUT, beware. There are at least 5 different cuts of this movie. If you can find it, look for the Double disk HK set (can be found on ebay for about 15 US $ or so). That is the best one, it is completely uncut.

Deffinately a must see.

Thanks BMV, appreciate the input there. I really want to see this movie. 56k doesn't allow a download and none of my buds seem to be able to track it down. So i wanted to make sure it was that good before tracking down a copy and buying it.

I found a copy on eBay (a .hk R3 DVD) but i think it is the cut version with 20mins missing from it. There are Jap copies floating round (with no subs, just pure Jap lang) but they go for around $60+ so i don't want that.

Just wish i could find a copy, i want the one i found on eBay but don't really want a censored movie.

i got an extra region zero one, and i have the 2 disk coming in, if you can't find it lmk. B

What's the difference between the R0 and the 2 disk set? Besides the fact one has 2 disks lol.

I just checked my code 0 disk, and it runs about 1:55+ It was the theatrical cut. The 2 disk set (coming in the mail soon) Runs 2:08 (full uncut). If need be, I can pass it on to you.

Which one is the best uncut version?

I prefer the movie to be in english though.

Best one to get is the R2 Dutch DVD. 2 Disk set and uncut.

The R3 HK DVD is cut by about 6 minutes.

:edit: The R2 Dutch DVD is not only uncut, but has an english dubbed track. Though fuck that, watch the damn movie subbed.

And yes, it's an excellent movie, if very graphic. Not for the squeamish.

the english version is a decent enough print, just missing scenes of extreme sexual violence. otherwise the r2dutch. the r1 is uncut too, so whatever u can get cheapest.

I have Ichi the Killer uncut 2 dvd bonus.

This movie is beyond what we usally see as far as gross movies go. This movie made me gag as some scenes.

Plot::
im not good with asian names.
One guy gets horny from killing people, they use him to kill gang members. They hire a guy to find ichi and stop him before he kills again.


The movie is gross and amazing at the same time. As you are gross out by blood splats and jizz splats, you wonder what would make a Director do this story. Takashi Miike, is a big time director in Japan and he makes amazing movies. But his movies have little to none story line just great horror scenes.
A great movie done by him is Audition. He uses the wonders of sound effects to make you sick.
I suggest getting the torrent files and getting a few Takashi Miike films.
If you like gore and sick movies, get Ichi

i have the uncut dvd to watch, i've watched the uk cut , and i think 5 of the 7 of us walked out on it within 40mins.

personally i thought it was a fairly enjoyable romp

www.play-asia.com have this DVD for very cheap!

Yeah, it's also the R3 censored version.

That DVD at play-asia.com is missing about 14mins of footage.

Avoid it. Only buy the Dutch R2 DVD or the Yank R1 DVD. But i think even though the Yank R1 is marketed as Uncut, i believe it is still missing a couple of minutes of footage.

Go for the Dutch R2.

someone with the best uncut verision should help everyone out by rippin/encodin it for us all would be VERY VERY appreciated.

you can get the r2 dutch in hmv stores.........they carry foreign movies and/or u can order it if its out of stock....seen like 5 copies in my area.... =) and its the directors uncut version too =D only 1 disk tho......but still the 2 disc is the same lol.....o yea did i mention it runs up to 2hr09mins long?.... =)

I saw the prequel "1-ichi" It was actually preety good. The directory did a great job and there was plenty of violence and sadism

Oh C'mon... it's not THE MOST DISTURBING movie ever made. It is VERY gory though, but the most disturbing is something else (like 'Guinea Pig'. Although I haven't seen them, the trailers are a lot more gory than Ichi). Ichi is great though, the almost cartoonish violence rocks.

of all the people on this forum i figured mystic to be the first to see this film. There is a censored and an "uncut" version floating around in the states, I rented the R version from a chain-rental and suncoast seems to have the uncut, either way i didn't care TOO much for the movie, would buy if it was cheap tho.

I finally got around to watching this movie, it's been a long bit since I watched something that just tears into you like the perverseness of this film.

Kinda good stuff though, I'm going to check out Audition now and give a few others I've been holding off on.
