No way this is getting a 9 , only "average" quality for a TELECiNE.

The Picture is Extremly dark to the point the dark scenes are near unwatchable and you can only see objects moving but cant really make them out. So dark that in NBP's sample that you cant make out facial expressions due to the dark shadows on the people's faces. This copy is also blurry and grainy , tad overcropped , slight red tint to the picture. VCDQ states bitrate is extremly high but i didnt notice it ... sounded quite good to me.

Average TC , nothing special

agreed.... ive already encoded and burnt to dvd..... very very dark.... no signs of bad cropping..... audio is spot on, but as stated this is only average for a tc.... just too damn dark

asteroids release is better than this one, but this is still good. i would call it an average to good tc.

NBP gets nuked a lot. But personally they are my heroes. My dvd player (standalone) plays it wonderfully. And i love their quality. Same as with the island. I dont mind it and it's very easy to correct on my tv. So pls KEEP THIS UP...thx for all the effort you guys are putting in. Really appreciate it

It is a bit dark but the color quality is emensely better that the cam versions. Turn up the briteness on the TV and its a little better. Sound is very good. Movie is a dark story, and it seems like I have seen it before, and better done.

RATING FOR A TC

v - 6 Blurry like the machine was out of focus... Very orange and yellow tint to it... and yes the dark scenes are still dark... Color just plain sucks... I have seen TS with crsiper detail... Not good for a TC... Looks like the same source as WotW... Maybe Boris ripped this one to...

s - 7 A little hollow, and it sounds super hot in the high ends but its not cam sound so anything is better...

m - 2 YAWN.....

TY NBP for a very watchable release...

And YES the The Skeleton Key Astroids xvid is out same source...

All my movies are burned using "PC Club" generic CD-R, and generic DVD-R disks. They are played on a AVAYON DXP1000 xvid/svcd/vcd/blah blah blah blah player...

Not so good quality on this, would have been ok for a TS.
Pic is grainy, and a bit dark on some places. After some adjustment, it went fine.
Movie was entertaining.

There are scene rules on what the max bit rate for a SVCD should be. A high bit rate SVCD may have touble playing in stand alone DVD players like mine. Artifacting is a symptom of a SVCD w/ a high bit rate. The DVD player simply cannot keep up w/ the high bit rate cause DVD players rotate the disc much slower than a PC CD/DVD rom drive. However, if you're watching this on ur PC, it doesn't matter and you won't see the difference.

Anyways, quality wise, 8/8/? Worth the download if ur gonna watch it on ur PC er newer stand alone.

Video is dark, but watchable. Sound is a bit low but decent as well. Movie is great, kidna lingers at the beginning at bit too long, but the ending is well worth the wait. I re-encoded the video and authored it to dvd, played in the good ol' standalone dvd player with no problems!

In the newbie section i believe on VCDQuality.com's forum they have the "TDX" rules ... might be good to read them over.

From the SVCD Rules: Must be at least 1750kbit average, with a maximum of 2450kbit.

These rules werent put into place to nuke groups just for the fun of it, these rules were put into place as errors made by the group make the quality lesser then watchable , or unwatchable to some extent.

The Bitrate rule take for example , way back when this rule was made , if any SVCD burnt to CDR exceeded 2450kbit bitrate it caused the movie on standalone players to crash ... hence making it unwatchable.

Lots of people nowadays still got old standalone players which in this case 9800kbit bitrate is hella high and will cause the movie to crash on their standalones.

9800kbit is even high for DVDR standards lol ...

Nuking a release for having a bit rate of 9800KB/s is not "any excuse." Almost all DVD's aren't even at 9800KB/s! There's simply no reason to have a bit rate that high- hence it was nuked. Go try to play this release on a standalone DVD player and see what happens. SVCD was meant for DVD players- not WinDVD or PowerDVD. Until scene rules change, the nuke is valid and done w/ good reason.

People like you should be banned, out right, and you are also half the problem in these threads.

Lets get a few things straight jackass. These groups , most of the time, buy fucking silvers off the street.

Now that's outta the way, these threads are to rate the release, not to be thankful we have one, not to ass kiss and suck off the groups, to RATE THE RELEASE.

This is a slightly below average TC, simple as that, let alone the rediculously high bitrate.

Rating shit high just cause it's there defeats the purpose of this thread.
(maybe we should add that to the x.69 autopost.)

As for doing a better job, send me the source and I will, I KNOW WHAT I'm DOING WHEN I ENCODE, You neeed to shutup and rate the release or leave. people are entitled to their opinions, and this site is specifically for rating releases.

This release is sub par for a TC, simple as that.

Shitty TC for a shitty movie. UBER dark is all I can say, amazingly dark and slihgtly blurred, seems like the ruskies broke out that red telecine machine again, but that can be dealt with by changing your tv tint to green.

Sound was great, movie was pathetic.

Wait for a repack or grab the xvid, cause most people aint gonna be able to watch this on their standalone.

fluffinator.. I have to agree with Jadakiss. The complaining is annoying... if your job is to rate the video, just rate it... it doesnt say "please rate it and in the process complain and cry". They release this stuff, but no where does it say you HAVE to watch it....they dont force you to! anyhow, i'm thankful i was able to save the money and watch it and heres my review:

Audio was average - 7

Video was decent, very much watchable - 7

Movie was pretty good - 8.5

Its not that the entire movie is 9800 kbit. Its ripped in Average bitrate, meaning there are spikes to 9800. Why the fuck they did it ... i dont know, but that many nukes in such a short time does tell allot about the ripping skills of there ripper .... he sux .

And why complain? Scene is no p2p crap, high standards are expected. If someone cant reach these standards, its not meanth for scene.

Now for movie:
