Another good product.

v = 8
a = 9
v = 9 a lot going on in the movie :-)

I really do not care where they get it from as long as it is a good product. So far mvs group is becoming very dependable.

Posted by OSH on 01-30-2007 01:53 PM:

Not very good. Looks way too cropped. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...snap-117989.png

I'll pass on this release.

6/?/?

Extended review: The colors are faded/washed out, the picture is not too sharp.

:MOD EDIT: ..we're not interested in reviews based on a jpg. At a minimum, you need to have seen the sample and ideally the whole release. Any more based on just the jpg will be deleted. -Vampire

For sound, muffled better description than echo.

Posted by ghettovideo on 01-31-2007 01:39 PM:

Sound was muffled on my copy,picture was not that bad.

Posted by nickrolando on 02-01-2007 01:27 PM:

WHy on all MVS releases, after burning to dvd the sound is all muffled?

Posted by jugs on 02-01-2007 02:36 PM:

Excellent video for a TS, audio (as said several times before) is quite muffled.

Just watches the sample, and by the looks of it, the picture is very nice. Little cropped, but much better than the previous verion of the film. This is a TS so audio sounds pretty good. Colors are very very good, can see everything. I liked this one... But I haven't watched from beginning so can't judge exactly how cropped as seen through the visual on screen text... Good rls

Posted by emoheadbanger924 on 02-03-2007 01:19 AM:

V: 7.5/8-During darker scenes it gets kinda hard to see what's going on but for the most part it's decent. As mentioned above, it's really cropped, but it is still a watchable release.
A: 7-I watched it with surround sound and thank God the right channel speaker is next to my bed because all the dialogue and sound is shifted to the back. The dialogue is understandable for the most part and the sound effects sound okay.
M: 9-Has a pretty crappy twist at the end but is an overall entertaining movie.

If you don't wanna see it in theaters but are dying to see the movie, this an adequate release to get. It's the best we'll get too until a telecine or retail comes out.

Posted by dariusgw on 02-03-2007 06:36 AM:

V:7, it's a little dark, but it's good enough for me.
A:7, could be better, but hell I made out every word and that's all that matters.
M:9, good twist at the end, lots of action

"watched it with surround sound and thank God the right channel speaker is next to my bed because all the dialogue and sound is shifted to the back. The dialogue is understandable for the most part and the sound effects sound okay."

Because of this reason....if you are simply watching with standard 2 channel from the television, then you get this garbled thingy....my panasonic dvd standalone has audio adjustments you can make to make it sound fine (something to do with surround settings but I can't remember). See if your dvd player has those. If not then there is a trick you can do with the scart lead where you loosen it slightly out the back until it sounds ok....takes some fiddling though!

Or you could sort out the sound yourself....not too difficult.

[/u may have the same problem ive been having, the audio channels maybe overlaping, try removing one of your audio wires in the back of your dvd player red or white that should do it, in the most extreme cases switch the audio wires red for white and white for red, good luck!]

Posted by stoops on 02-07-2007 10:53 PM:

Watchable but hard to make out some of the dialogue at times.

V = 7.5
A = 7
M = 8

Because MVS's audio isn't actually stereo, it's just mono audio with each channel being the inverse of the other. Just like when you add an inverted image to the original image, adding the inverted audio channel (say, the left) to the original audio channel (say, the right) will cancel each one out. I'm assuming you're playing this back on a TV with a single output, or at least a setup with a center channel speaker that is suspiciously quiet when watching the movie. That is why.

There's usually a minor difference between the left and right due to mp3 compression, and sometimes an additional delay, which makes each channel not cancel out completely. In this case you'll hear a little bit of noise but not much else.

In short, this is another big problem I have with MVS as a group. They release this "fake stereo" audio in a lot of their releases, and though it sort of sounds like stereo audio (because your left and right ears hear slightly different things) it isn't actually stereo audio. Instead we wind up with playback issues on non-stereo TVs and decent home theater systems, in addition to the wasted bandwidth that could have been saved by encoding the audio as a mono (or at least joint stereo) mp3.

Posted by superukie9 on 02-09-2007 04:59 PM:

Not too bad. Slightly cropped. No issues with the audio. Its much better than previous rls.

V: 7
A:8
M:8 (wicked sweet ending)
