Question for you stoners

I have never done weed before, none of my friends have done it either. Yes I guess that that's not normal but I swear it's true.

I'm 22 and feel like I could be missing out on something and would like to just get stoned and watch a good comedy movie or something (this was sort of sparked off the thread in the Movie Discussion.)

My question is, how would someone with no experience in this kind of area go and make a purchase for this kind of product? How do I find someone selling it, how much do you guys pay for it? I don't wanna get ripped off...

I could ask some friends of mine who are still in college but in this area everyone knows EVERYONE and I'd rather not get it spread around that I would like to kick back with a joint all the sudden.

Holy crap, I know 10 people right off the top of my head who could get me just about anything and I don't do illicit drugs. You guys live in a fuckin Seminary or possibly an abbess?

My advice would be not to.

I started when I was 15 and im now 40 with intentions of someday giving it up.

Hopefully if you do try it, then its the strongest skunk out there and you o.d and vomit your guts up and go a shade of green.

That might deter you from future ventures.

Have to agree with the "no" crowd. I did all that shit when I was younger, and I wouldn't go back to it now.

The side effects aren't worth it - and if a movie is only funny once you're stoned then it's a shit movie in the first place. Just have a few drinks instead

Get some low level stress, unless you want to be stoned for hours (which I hate). I have to waste my time on other equally useless things in life.

Obviously if you haven't sought it out until now it's not your thing and you likely won't turn into looter.

The same thing goes for alcohol, no difference.. It's a way to relax, go nowhere, and be nothing for a few hours. No harm done.

I can't see any harm with giving it a try. I'm not sure what the going rate for a decent skunk/weed is in the US though so I couldn't advise on that (Zooted probably can though) but for the naysayers telling you not to bother I say "Lick my balls"

Don't overdo your first smoke though, half of a decent joint WILL get you stoned. Often first-timers think it's not working and keep smoking but often the effects can take 5-10mins to come on so by the time they do feel it they've finished a full spliff and are starring into the eyes of a bad time for the next hour or so... The expression "Puff puff pass" springs to mind, don't overdo it and don't try it when you're drunk either.

For your first time I'd suggest just buying a couple of joints off somebody for 5 bux and see how you go, cos I'm assuming being a non-smoker you can't roll for shit either

i got too many pals started at around the early teens who now have mental health problems.
BUT
Ive got an equal amount of pals that started early and are just fine.
witch side would you have fallen into... chances are in your favour as you've left it till now.

should you try it?

Weed is overrated imo although it does have its place. A good drug of choice is coke. Perks you up instead of making you sleepy and lazy and is relatively harmless* to the recreational user.

Agreed, coke is better than weed. I used to smoke a lot of weed, I stopped in favour of the drink/ Cokes good with alcohol and it doesn't bend your head like pills or trips.

Steer clear. It's a vastly overrated experience and from the only people I know that have stayed on it, it can only negatively affect you.

If you decide to try it, limit yourself. Don't build up a need for it every night. If you find yourself going out of your way to get some, or getting some simply because you don't have any, then stop and don't go back to it.
