Props to HafVCD for two reasons.

First reason being , very watchable first online copy of this movie ... been waiting patiently to watch it. Picture as mentioned in their nfo from DVD Source so crisp and clear , crop and colors are spot on. Sound is direct but has a loud background echo to it, very good audio compaired to a hollow of a CAM , but not close to DTS.

Second reason being, for taking the time to think what to lable this copy as, and being honest in your nfo !!! Any other group im sure would have tried to pass this off as a DVDScr .... some even DVDRip , Thx HafVCD for showing there is some hope left around and not all tards left to run the show !

Very Watchable Copy. Not E-SUBBED like PreVail's , or french like the other sources.

Just perfect! Video is DVD quality, very sharp and crisp. The echo in audio is almost unnoticeable so it doesn’t bother at all. Over all very good!

There is audio silence on disk 2. It begins at 25:55 ends at 26:22. So there is no audio for 27 seconds. But it doesn’t disturb at all, since there is no any important info there.

EDIT:: March.Of.The.Penguins.TC.xVID.READINFO-LRC is out now, it's same good quality but half size of SVCD.

very nice quality.
picture is indeed very clear, and I did notice the earlier-mentioned echoing.
the movie itself was extremely boring, but the kids seemed to like it.

just checked the sample...

video looks more or less perfect on a tv, didnt notice any echo on the sound myself, maybe a tiny bit of distortion but nothing bad at all so thumbs up for that too.

will chek the movie at the weekend.

video is damn good, of course, dvd source and all, and the audio is ok, nothing too distracting, dont know if this is my type of movie but ill watch anyway and pass it on to my nephews, and neversoft, it may be hard to screw up a dvdrip but we know many of groups cant get their audio sync correct, even the best of groups have fucked that up before... anyway 9.5/7/?

damn fine release! Love the DVD video and the audio is good too. I like other members appreciate HafVCD for taking the time to actually put useful information in their NFO (thats what they are there for right? )

The documentary was filmed by a French team then released in France with no English. Morgan Freeman was brought in for us Americans, his voice is almost hypnotic lol. The movie is one of the best documentaries I have seen in a while and great for anyone looking to rip movies the whole family can watch. Thanks HafVCD!

what doesnt kill me today, only prolongs the inevitable...

The video quality is excellent. the audio is tinny. I converted it so I can watc hit on my standalone but it sounds very hissy and muffled. I have no idea whats up with it.

hmm i DVDr'd this too to watch on my standalone and like above user discovered that theres something seriously wrong with the audio..

Playing the dvd from a folder on my HDD it sounded ok and normal but once its burnt to disk and playing in a standalone i cant make any of the audio out as its very low ,very distorted..definately unwatchable the way it is at the mo...

Im going to play about with it to see if i can find whats went wrong during the transfer from HDD to dvd disk

Will report back

This is an excellent telecine. Sound is good too. Best telecine i've seen in recent memory.

Just read nfo... duh. it's DVD rip. Anyways, it still looks damn good.

whew sounds like morgan freeman has his head in a metal trash can french version is nice but i only understand english

watched this on the TV tonight...

video quality was excellent.. colors are great and so is the sharpness.

audio was excellent as well. couple of small issues on the 2nd disc, but the audio is a voice over to start, doesn't really matter.

movie was entertaining for about 20 minutes.. the penguins are pretty funny to watch -- like little bouncers strutting around. however, after the humor of that wears off, the movie gets a little long. still a good flick.

I was told the audio was recorded in prologic and does not default to the front speakers. if you have a stereo hooked up to your tv then the rear speakers will play the sound. if not your out of luck.

I have no clue how to fix this, I guess its encoded like that.

I would give this 9,8,7,kids have been waiting for this .

Possible audio fix

I'd have to say 9/6/8 . How can you not like penguins? Well, maybe not 2 hours of them, but whatever floats yer boat...

Possible audio fix:
I had the garbled audio problem too, but discovered that if I switched the audio to just the left or right channel (mono) I can hear the voice-over perfectly fine. There's still a bit of hollowness to it, but at least you can clearly hear the movie. Might be just my computer as the headphone jack got fried by lightning recently but thru the computer's single mono speaker I get clear audio. I've not burned it to disc so i've no idea if this trick works on stand-alone players. If I had to guess, it seems as if the left and right audio channels are almost mirror-opposites so when played together they cancel each other out. HTH some of you at least..

maybe no one acquiring this release has seen the real american version (not a knock, just wondering why it hasn't been nuked) but this has some severe sync issues. theres a 20 second plus audio gap, when the mothers begin leaving, and the audio that should have been in that section comes during the bird attack on the chicks "it is late august now, and time for the mothers to return and feed. for some this development is unacceptable, but it is also non-negotiable"

these sync issues continue through a large portion of the end of the film, (notice the large bird squaking and the chicks squeaking when they shouldn't be) but is fixed later on... possibly because the french version was edited differently or has a longer running time and the group didn't know where the audio belonged... i appreciate the effort involved but regardless, should be nuked...
