-- Willard - WORKPRINT - VideoCD (http://forum.vcdq.com/showthread.php?threadid=16170)
Yeah, my first post
Great job on the release of the workprint before theatre release. Effects look decent in this movie, storyline looks to be lacking. Kind of reminds me of the old Dead alive movie. Thats a classic.
CATBOX
::Next time=ban -FuzZ::
acutally for a workprint this is nice, but movie story line was lacking big time.

Nice color, widescreen, good sound. Movie looks like a waste though, and also, the various signs on the top left, and the left aligned center, take this away from being perfect. 5/8/?(i assume a 1 or a 2, no greater)
:sigh: obliously u people didn't see the original of this movie cause it was fucking great and I'm so happy they released this. Nice pic like a 7 sound is quite nice with a 7.5 and the movie if its like the original should be quite good. I don't know if I'll get this though on account of the 9/18/02 in the middle of the screen and since 1 or two scenes might be cut out. But thanx videocd.
PS- It Ain't Nuttin But A G-Thang Baby!
The video is actually pretty good, audio is great, date and blur in the middle are annoying but very easily ignored, and the others on the top and property tag on the bottom are easily ignored to, i kinda wanna see this one so i will wait for screener.
And for an extra note, the sample almost made me cry, i really dont want that rat to die
8/9/?

Sound is great, as it IS a workprint. Video is ehhh... very blurry. Better than a TS, though, and I give VCD respect for the pre. I haven't watched the whole thing yet, but does anyone know if this workprint is missing anything? I.E. Special effects, scenes, costumes, etc..
Great job nailing a workprint. Quality is what others have said: very nice audio, video is a little blurred, ill-defined, but very watchable. (6/7/2) Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the movie. What a disappointment! As someone who really dug the original, this one is garbage-- every choice they made (except casting Crispin Glover) is wrong, and they even made Glover's character too obviously creepy, which destroys any chance of a compelling story. It's amateur hour, folks, what a waste.

Crispin Glover is an acting GOD. You must all bow before him. Sample is good, a little annoying with the blurs but u get used to em. I'm gonna pay for this one
NASTY release. Blocky and pixelated to shittyness. The encoder was probably having a nervous breakdown when they did this.
Audio was lovely though. One thing though, whoever was responsible for encoding this and/or doing the s-blur's isn't gonna be around for long. That s-blur in the top right is fucked and you can see the numbers. The central blur is fucked too and you can make most of it out in certain scenes.
As with all WP's, the markings are annoying as hell, but nothing we can do about that and it doesn't deter that much.
I got this coz i worship Crispin "George McFly" Glover. But the movie looks poo and well, this release is nasty. Mad love for the pre though. Next time blur stuff properly.
4/7/?
er
i agree with solbee rip fucking good shit

If the movie isn't like that (which not even that crappy LOTR:TTT cam was), the voter is simply after abusing the vote system and vcdquality.com itself.
this movie is really shitty....lacking storyline bigtime
great for a workprint though
6.5/6.5/3
ok got the total movie, Quality is good, Sound is awsome. cuase its workprint it has some watermark but onces u get with movie u wont really see any of the watermarks .
Mmmm i guess everyone has there own way of understanding this movie. It has its own way of story lines and one liners! as usual horror flix has like ( Kill him, till he dies ) or ( What u can't see a little blood?? )
This movie is Wierd, it wont make much sence now but in few years its gona be a good flick!

OK, Please Stop asking for Movies, and Go and find it.
The counters in the top right and left do not take away from the movie if you dont let them, the picture isnt bad, probably a 7, sound again not bad, 6, will be watching the whole thing now so cant comment on movie
tsg.ant
6/6/7
Good movie, rush encode job! Lots of block noise. Plot wise it was choppy, definitely an early draft. Note it is dated september 2002 and they finished shooting pick ups in January. The end for sure is not the final because in the theatrical version Willard doesn't die at the end (according to a Crispen Glover interview).
But hey, congrats on snagging a Work-Print...
nice job finding a wp i actually wanna see this movie
pic is good cept for all the counters but other then that good rls
THANX VIDEOCD
7/7/?

The WP never ends or starts (sometimes) like it always should, I give good respect for the early release, the counters don't have to worry bout, movie fans by now should be used to it, nothing unique or special. Well to make a long story short; I give for audio a 8, very superb and nice crisp sound, as for video I give it a 7 since its a little blur, not too much though. And finally the movie overall about a 7 aswell, I mean just cause it's a kids movie doesnt mean i wont enjoy it ... also the fact that the movie seems to be much better when u know your watching it before theatrical release date
Mad props to VideoCD, try to work on a little bit on the encoding and well....you'll do just fine... Laterz

I wattched a little bit of this movie and I liked the video and the sound...but damn there are alot of counters going on.....I know thats what you get with a workprint. Still I think a great pre.
Quality and sound are very watchable, but is this the final workprint? Either it lacked some storylines and a few bad edits in it, or i missed somthing.... if this is final, well, the writer and editor need a few leasons on film..... Either way, i watched it all the way through, and it could of been 10x better.
Nice !!!!!!!!! im getting this release the trailer looks cool
based on sample 6/7/ ?????

Children Of Dune RULED
I saw a sneak preview of this movie on Monday, and I can tell you that this workprint is quite different from the finished version of the film. Like someone else said, the ending is different, and also the violent scenes are much bloodier than what ended up in the final version. I guess they had to tone down some of the blood and the gore to get a PG-13 rating, especially in the scene where the rats attack Willard's boss. So you might want to download this as a curiosity, since I don't know if those scenes will ever end up on the DVD. It's a bit like the early workprint of "One Hour Photo" that had the ending of the movie at the beginning instead of the end.
Looks like the single workprint from last year
LoL, This movies #$%& right up, but good job VideoCD, keep it up. 7/6/6
audio is good, video is crap, but still better than TMD, hehe. with TMD releases in mind even this quality will appear to you as perfect.
something else: some of you above have said that the movie had no story line. have you actually watched the movie? because if you say it has no story line, you are either incredibly dumb, or you have missed 99% of it. The whole movie is very metaphorical - just look at the two mice as the opposition of good and evil, or reason and insanity. just a starting point to get you going. one could analyse the symbols and metaphors for hours. I wouldn't go so far to call the movie intelligent, because the metaphors are too conventional and too obvious, yet at the same time they work on multiple levels, all characters representing many different issues, up to the level of allegory.
so take another look.
ALL the TEXT...... UGH!
Picture is nice, BUT the "counter + prev + PO # + Prop Of" TEXT that surrounds the picture is annoying.
Sound is good.
Overall story is lame, just another horror remake from past movies.
[5.5/6.8/4.5] So if all the teXt doesn;t bother you & don't mind a basic horror flick then see it. If not wait for a better vhs/dvd-screener.
is this version the final print that made it to theaters? The commercial has a few spots that arent in the final movie.
SPOILER ALERT!!
there are missing scenes and different scenes. the ending is missing. when the shadow of the rat is in the window the guy comes up and kills him. there are 2 scenes missing from the wp that are in the movie and all the bloody scenes are a lot less bloody in the movie. like the scene when the guy is in the elevator and he is squrting blood... that one was cut short and when big ben attacks willard they cut out the squirting blood

Also there are some scenes in this workprint that I don't remember being in the final version (although it's possible I could just be forgetting them). There are a few extra scenes with Willard and the girl he works with, where she is trying to talk to him and get to know him better. These scenes seemed to be trying to show a "softer" side to Willard's character. I guess they cut this because they realized no one really gives a crap about a love story in a movie like this, they just want to see rats attack people.
Workprint has different ending
Didn't know if anyone knows this, but the workprint has a different ending than the theatrical release. It gives the ending a completely different feel. Also, I never saw Crispin say "kill him till he dies" in the theatrical version. I had been waiting for it too, since I heard everyone talking about it. There's also some extra/extended scenes on the workprint that aren't in the theatrical. Just a little FYI.
