I have always been neutral about this ftf buisnak, this rls looks nice, im judging by prevoious one, but whatever. This movie is kik ass, I dont think it compares to any we have seen lately. Just the plot in itself is awsome, I love it.

it's sharper and clearer, also the sound seems to be a bit clearer...
it is more "watchable" than the last release of reign of fire...
if you want to see if now and don't know which release take between the VCDistro and the FTF(Fuck the Flick?) take the FTF.. until some other groups release something better...
comment based on the first cd.

Same source as the VCD-distro, you can tell by looking at the beginning of both releases, it shakes at the exact spot.

Everyone above is right-- same source (hence the "proper"), but this is the watchable one. But how the hell can one release be out-of-focus and another be in focus?? I figured the focus issue happened during the original filming/ripping, but it must happen later during encoding. WEIRD.

ok.. what you guys are failing to grasp.. is that these 2 groups.. absolutely are not filming these movies theirself... they just have a damn nice silver supplier... havent seen this release but i have been watching the difference in releases by these 2 groups.. it pretty much happens like t his...vcdistro aparently doesnt know how to encode so they just rip the dat and re-image it... ftf rips the dat to mpeg and actually tries to edit it and clean it up
props to anyone that bring us anything at all

Got given a copy of the (malasian??) silver this morning and this is an improvement on that.

As usual FTF proves they are the worst group releasing now a days and they dont give a shit thats obvious. We have had absolutely nothing(besides a few screeners) come out in the last month worthy of praise. Personally I dont give a fuck who releases whether it be FTF,Centropy,VCDistro or any others as long as they put out good quality releases. MIB2 releases sucked ass, Minority Report was very disappointing audio as well as subpar picture, Powerpuff Girls noise was annoying, Road To Perdition audio gaps were unacceptable, Reign of Fire again..disappointing audio and picture, and now this. Croc Hunter..well we all know about that quality as well. Yes, ctp did release above average quality and now they have decided to take their ball and play with the select few who are privilaged to get their releases, but they can kiss my ass for leaving the public with these idiot groups who care about speed rather than quality. Gee, thanks ctp for Crossroads screener..we were all waiting for that one..assholes

One : most of the films you mentioned were theater PRE's . how can you expect great quality from em ?

Two : pretty much all the releases you mentioned were off VCD silvers. goto malaysia and bitch at the people camming them, not the people spreading em

Three : centropy didnt' put out a screener of Crossroads. TEG did. Centropy put out the DVD rip.

please learn what the hell you are on about before criticising anyone. damn leechers dont know shit. as for the comments re: centropy.. are you sure u even THOUGHT u knew what you were typing about?? when you're in a group who were probably put in the spotlight of theater releases, we'll see how you handle the pressure. they, nor any other group, owe people like you SHIT so stop moaning. don't like it? then dont download it. if you're so great, i'll say hi to u next time i see u risk your ass in the theater with your cam, until then, please stfu.

My review based on the full release:

Video: Better than the VCDistro, specifically more sharp. It still isn't anywhere near "good" but it's a pre so thats to be expected I guess.

Audio: Horrible. Simply horrible. A constant loud hissing going on in the background.

Movie: Like the VCDistro, I dont want to judge this movie based on the 2 pre-releases of it so far.

Overall release: 4.5/10

You're all absolutely right. Sorry for my rant. I just wish the releases coming out would be a little better. As for the brain fart calling Crossroads a screener instead of a DVDRip I am sorry for the mislabel. The fact of the matter is I know these groups dont release for me or you but themselves...I for one would demand better quality if I were doing it myself.

This FTF release is just crappy. The video is dark and blurry... The audio is worst, it sounded like radio.

I normally don't bother with FTF but decided to see if they had improved since the last time I watched one of there releases.

Well...sorry guys but this started OK. Sure it was a CAM but it looked to be one that was going to be watchable. The constant flicker with audio clicks however made this a complete waste of time. Not to mention the audio static here and there before the flickering begins!

To everyone who thinks I am bitching, well yes I am. Did I get it for free "You bet!". However I care more about warning people before they commit to the d/l.

Thanks for the release FTF, better luck next time. Believe it or not I do appreciate the release and the risk you and other groups take.

Well... after reading all the insults about this group I just had to put my 2 cents in. You know I have been d/ling movies from the net for a lil while now for a friend of mine,he's bed ridden and can't get out and see movies anymore. I understand that the quality of these movies FTF releases are stellar quality, I bet even Centropy has had a few serious lame releases in their time. I think that as a "pirate" I really don't have a right to complain about something that I didn't do a single thing to help release. I am just appreciative of this group for allowing me the pleasure of getting to review something before I go and drop $7 down on the counter. I watched this movie and realized no it wasn't the best quality available and yes it is missing about 15 minutes of the very beginning and the sound sux and the video flickers etc,etc... But you know what none of these things made a single difference to my friend as he lay in bed watching it on the ole' LCD projector, you know why?? He is happy with what I can supply for him. And as a habit I always d/l a better copy as they are available and we again watch the movie together. I am always hopeful that Centropy will release copies of movies but you know I am just greatful someone does in the end.
Anyhow props to whoever can release these movies for us to watch, and you know guys if you showed a little more appreciation to FTF for all the work that goes into getting and encoding these movies maybe they might strive for better quality for their fans ^_~. Something to think about.
As for the movie itself it was so so and again you should pay to go see it in the theater just for the 15 maybe even 20 minutes of the beginning of the film that explains the whole history behind the dragon invasions.

MISSING SCENES

Just so you cheap basts know, there are some pretty significant scenes chopped out of this release. A 5 minute intro that really sets up the film nicely is gone, and, much to your chagrin I'm sure, early shots of Christian Bale's taut rippling muscles are gone as well (why? what country did this come from?). I haven't bothered to watch the FTF all the way through, so there may be more missing.

in TMPGEnc go to simple color correction and put Gamma - 128 and Brightness 14. Makes the movie less dark.

the quality was wachable, not special, nothing terribly wrong accept the 'assumed' flicker. Not that it matters, this movie was way over rated, i thought it sucked.

Ah, so it is missing scenes. I was wondering why the fuck they didn't explain where the hell all these dragons came from. Yes, the video was pretty poor and the audio wasn't very clear either - but what the hell? I watched it at home the same day it came out to the theaters - so that in itself made it okay.

FTF is working hard and they don't have to put this chit out on the net for us to dl for free. Even as a n00b, I know where my bread is buttered and I'm thankful for what I'm given.

Keep up the hard work guys, maybe next time it will be a little more watchable.

where the hell is the first half hour of the movie, there is 30 mins missing on each version the whole beginning of each version is missing, sad to ruin such a kick ass movie. I siggest if anyone really wants to enjoy this flick go see it at the theaters
