What Cartel release roflmao
If there was a cartel release there would have been a videocd one as well.

Posted by Freeder on 10-19-2004 03:12 PM:

Wow... very possibly the first nice release I've seen from sWs.

Video is fine, nothing to complain about from what I can see.

The audio has a little bit of a muffle/distorion to it, if you turn your speakers up, that may be enough to overcome it. Some of the quiet scenes may be a little hard to understand as a result.

Overall, definitely worth the download. My unbiased rating:
7/6/7

Enjoy!

First off, big thanks to sWs, I had pretty much given up on anyone releasing a TS of this flick.

Skimmed through this release in VLC and it seems to get pretty blocky during the more action packed scenes Reminds me of the Open Water TS in that respect. (although the blocks might be partially the fault of VLC gonna burn and see how it looks on TV.)

Colours are not bad. Video seems dark in some of the scenes such as the fire ones.

Sound is ok.

It's not the best TS especially by recent standards but it is free so no complaints from me

I will definitely be watching this one.

6.5(due to blockiness)/7/? watching all of it later

sWs has vastly inproved with this rls. i hope they keep it coming in this fashion.

Posted by vegasguy on 10-19-2004 07:22 PM:

Hi,

After watching the sample, video is blocky, cropped, blurry a tad bit. Audio sounds fine for me. However it is watchable release. The best version out at the momment. This will have to hold you guys over until a Screener/DVD Rip.

Great job SwS.

Well, i'm not sucking up to any other groups, but honestly...you give the "other groups" 8's and shit too, when you know damn well their releases are better. If those deserve 8's .. this doesn't. Just my opinion.

Picture is slightly bright, fairly blurry. Sound is nice and clear, wish it had more "bass" to it. Already saw the movie .. dunno if i'll pick this one up.

6.5/8/7

Posted by bcool2k on 10-20-2004 03:54 AM:

Nice, Finally a watchable SVCD TS has arrived, too bad this one isn't better than it turned out. Pic is cropped and a bit dark and the sound has a hiss to it at higher volumes, better than POT cam, but NOt by much..

7/7/8

Posted by commiewhore on 10-20-2004 05:01 AM:

video = 6 ....its ok, the crop is annoying in action scenes, looks like someone found logistic's silvers

audio = 6 ...not dts...someone help this grp out

movie = 7 ...decent, quaint funny movie, nothing too spectacular more of just a decen movie.

i think some of the votes are high for this cause many people wanted it, they should learn to pay 9 bucks...oh well

Posted by Mean Machine on 10-20-2004 12:09 PM:

This is nice, especially the sound, looking forward very much to watching the whole film.

From sample: 7/9/?

Posted by JaX on 10-20-2004 12:55 PM:

Slight pixellation/blockiness in fast moving/lots of action scenes!

Apart from that, great release!

SwS are coming together now! And making some good releases!

Compared to Open Water, this should get a 10/10 theyve improved that much, but i will just vote on this release!

7/7/?

? Movie looks ok, but havent watched all yet!

Finally, someone else who realizes the sound is NOT as great as everyone is saying, thank you ITs good, but it has issues at higher volumes for sure!!

Honestly -- a crappy TS. What'd they do, encode this one-pass or something? Even on very slight motion sequences (turning the pages of a book, shutting a door, etc.) there is noticeable blockiness. Video also gets somewhat jerky on scene changes. Audio, while direct, isn't nearly up to par with what other groups have been producing lately.

V: 5
A: 6.5
M: Haven't watched the whole thing yet.

Posted by eighty5 on 10-21-2004 07:55 AM:

This release looks like an above average silver to me.

The video is cropped a bit, slanted a tiny bit and a tad blurry. Not the brightest Telesync I've seen, but nothing the brightness and contrast on your TV cant fix.

The audio is decent, but below average compared to recent SVCD Telesyncs, but clear enough to understand whats going on, and minor hiss, but a LOT better then the CAM released by POT.

Overall (judging by cd1 only)

7/7/?

pretty good..had to do some video adjustments with tmpgenc..but overall nice..

7/8/5 movie sucked and was boring..why Travolta why?

Finally got around to watchin the movie. Overall very watchable but a few dark scenes (watch at night, alot easier) , flames looked like blocks now and then. Bit grainy and pixelated. Sound was perfect in sync and sounded great.

Overall , its about time Hollywood got a Firefighting movie right. I look back on movies like backdraft which were extremly fake in a firefighters sence. I give this movie two thumbs up. Some people posted that its boring , but this is exactly how Firefighters lifes are day in and day out , not only on the job but family effect also. (Wife's worrying, etc) . Gj Hollywood getting a movie pretty accurate.

7/9/9

I was just wondering if anyone else hears that high pitch buzz at higher volumes. Its so noticeable in surround sound on my stereo. I have to drop my own score to 6 for Volume. I hope its NOt just me. Oh well, still a great pic, although a FS pic on a TS seems nearly impossible.

Posted by frak on 10-23-2004 09:41 AM:

I watched this on the TV (60") and it was pretty good quality
imo.

Little cropped, but the video quality was pretty good, especially
given the movie is pretty dark overall.

Audio was fine, no hiss, tin can sounds - direct.

movie was fairly entertaining - better than i expected.

video: 7.5
audio: 7.5

Great movie. Pic and audio are real nice. Obviously a bit dark in places, due to it being in a fire.

way to go ts

8/8/9 - great movie, loved it
Bit grainy and blocky in the action sequences, watched it on a 46" and not bad at all. I thought the sound was good, didn't notice the hiss. Great work, thanks !!!

WOW! what can I say, this release sucked in the video department. FS and on angle with cropping man. Fully pixelated and blurred to hell and back.
/end_rant

Video - As I ranted on bout it above it totally blew.

Audio - Just checked it again, but couldn't find that wierd sound that people were posting bout. Nice direct audio.

6/8/? (Who really cares what I think?)

Though its the best release out. So props. to sWs.
