Posted by tr1pp1n on 05-19-2005 10:36 PM:

its nice these groups try to fix it up, but really i dont think its much improved if your gonna get a good reincode of a source you need xpd, imo.. comment on the sample

7/7/8

not much changed if u use zoom player or ifoedit and put it in widescreen ratio sixteen nine then it looks identical to this...

The problem is that it isn't 16:9, it's 2.21:1.

That's why the other VCD release of this workprint should be nuked.

Posted by Dodgy Del on 05-19-2005 10:48 PM:

Thumbs down

cant see this getting any better. what we need is another new release here. this release has done its turn and its only a matter of time for this to happen

Last vcd definatly went out of sync for awhile. So I think it's worth it.

btw no blocks in the sample, havent got it all yet though.

Posted by digitaldt on 05-19-2005 10:56 PM:

it's watchable. of course it's not HD quality. but it's the movie that you can watch at home... since the show has been sold out at like every single theatre for today and this weekend.

the 2nd cd goes out of sync.. at least mine does.

nuke it.

Posted by HeartOfStone on 05-19-2005 11:34 PM:

Having the movie in its correct aspect ratio does make a lot better.

8 / 7 / ?

Star.Wars.Episode.3.Revenge.of.the.Sith.WP.Aspect.Ratio.FiX-iND

If all ya wanna do is fix the AR ratio, find this fix.Do a search on a torrent search engine and you should find it.Simply extract the video_ts folder from the .iso .Then extract the files in this fix.rar.Place those in the video_ts folder choosing to overwrite and replace. The total file size of the fix is 304.82kb.As long as pan and scan isn't set in the options on your dvd player it will adjust the AR to 16:9.The releaser of this fix said he tested on 3 dvd
players.Ive tested on my own and it does work.Ide recommend downloading this fix as opposed to wasting your time downloading an invalid proper.

Posted by Kick on 05-20-2005 01:26 AM:

Ok this is the best one so far def i got the iso version couldnt be bothered sorting it just downloaded this and its far better aspecta and ar etc but seriously enoughs enough!!! Gonna have a ts or tc soon

8.5/9/10!!!

Posted by T-H-E-W-H-O on 05-20-2005 01:27 AM:

6/5/? gonna see it legit

umm.... SG18 wishes they had connections to pull and email adress like in thier nfo. lol

Posted by weedchemist on 05-20-2005 04:32 AM:

needed rls

contrary to what some people say this was a needed release, but only for 1 reason... If you do not have a dvd burner, the visa rls was fine with the ar fix (well 2 reasons The 1st real vcd goes out of sync) still have not watched it all but compared about 5 mins of the same scene, this is good some people say slightly dark, which it is, but the visa rls was a bit light in my eyes. but as ive seen everyone has their input on how they like a movie to look so no1 will ever win on that one. This is why 20 yrs ago they put picture control on tvs and it really does help even the crappiest rls's. and this is why sg18 has a purpose in the scene... (altho a sad one)... to reencode, and this time they truly had a reason, unlike their past rls's, altho this rls was blocky afterseeing more. very slight props to sg18 but its never their source so not much props also as a workprint fanatic I dont want anything changed (the blur on the 1st vcd) well unless it is for protection of the source, and as the nfo points out no repeat scenes like I heard was on the dvd-r. This rls as it is not as good visually as the vcddvd ( as a workprint ) is 5/6/?
(about to watch the whole movie tonight)

Watched the Visa Version (actually watching again now) with the fix and it is a fantastic movie 5/6/9 is the official score for this one

Obvioulsy you havnt seen the other releases lmao

this is the only film i can remember where the quality gets worse with each release

this particular release sux balls and basicly pointless

video 0

audio 0

movie 9

not giving this group credit for shit all they did was take an average quality movie and encode it to shit

Posted by BruceBanna on 05-20-2005 07:55 AM:

Another reencode... This CANNOT be better than the original release, ok? The first release is better because it's sort of anamorphic, these AR-reencodes LOST image detail!

:: People....stop ignoring the rules. -K::

Posted by moby008 on 05-20-2005 09:18 AM:

This release is even worse than previous releases.
Video gave me headaches, with the blocks, and the audio went out of sync at second c.d, atleast with me.
Maybe okay for die-hard fans, but I' ve patience :-)

3/3/8

Posted by SHaKiNGBRaVe on 05-20-2005 09:25 AM:

proper, pffff. the 16:9 aspect ratio is a non factor imo, as you can just change it with ifoedit on the visa rls, no reencode needed and no loss of quality as a result. i personally noted 2 repeated scenes in the original rls (may be more). come on guys, internal this sh*t tho. you reencoded something taken from p2p. granted the repeat scenes aren't there, but the major change was the ar fix, which you don't need to dl the release again to do. credit whores.

picture : 5, blocky, as if visa's wasn't enough already
audio : 8, not as bad as people make it out to be
movie : 7, some of the "dramatic" parts were so cliche i laughed. more blowing stuff up pls.

i can give you some advice: go watch the movie in the cinema

you have to see it on the big screen to really appreciate it!

Posted by saddy on 05-20-2005 10:36 PM:

i really cant stand those counters, gonna wait for a better one...tried to watch a bit, audio was excellent from what i heard..and the starting mins of the movie were good too

Proper???? Get a life. I'm glad the quality score is a lot lower than the Mobsters release, because there is barely any difference in the AR, and if you use a media player that's worthwhile you can easily stretch it to fit your screen.

The video quality is slightly worse on SG18 rls plus they left the counters intact, probably because they were too lame to know how to remove them like mobsters.

No need for this rls whatsoever, certinaly no improvement over the mobsters rls, in fact most people would prefer that one due to no counters.

re-encoded with a 'smooth' filter, so its blurry untill
the action scenes, then its overly blocky
hope is on the way? POT has a internal WP, 3cd SVCD, dont know if its just another re-encode....

wow, watched POT internal sample, compared to original VISA wp, looks nice! no way to stretch a 352x240 pic to a 480x480 reencode and some how have a better picture. pictures just a little bit sharper, with out the artifacts/pixelation. (I would have saved this for the internal pot release forum, but I know sometimes internals dont show up on vcdq.)

Posted by lindoors on 05-21-2005 12:03 AM:

Recodes of recodes ..What can i add And high action sequences is well blocky

Posted by Scouse1 on 05-21-2005 02:07 AM:

Why the marks so low..Until there is a decent TS your stuck with the numbers so deal with it.
Picture 8
sound 8
movie....fuckin shite....well it's Star Wars innit'

If your a true Star Wars fan, there maybe somethin' in theworkprint that ain't in the movie.......... Imagine that.
PS. All Star Wars movies are crap.

If you find my comments offensive , you really do need a girlfriend!

Thumbs down NOT BY who they claim

the two types of this movie are the same and stolen right from Lucas Studios It what you call a workshop copy and as for this copy its suck and that smug at the top will drive you crazy. your better off waiting for a centropy or tun.

Posted by JoshNya on 05-21-2005 05:01 AM:

Good rls, no problems, looked good on the 27". Runs smooth unlike the other 2 releases.

8/8/7

Posted by H8MACHINE on 05-24-2005 12:59 AM:

Theres nothing wrong with this release. The video is clear, the aspect ratio is pretty good and the sound is freakin awesome on my surround sound.

Watched the movie on my 32" TV and the only thing that was annoying me was some pixellaration and the counters.

Posted by Wanderer22 on 05-24-2005 01:28 AM:

Seems fine to me, too.

As I understand it, this is not a "re-encode of a re-encode of a re-encode".. everyone's taking from the same original source. It just seems that SG18 is the only one to actually go through and fix the problems, like the audio sync, aspect ratio, blank scenes, repeating scenes, etc.

It's a little fuzzy if you're used to SVCDs, since it's VCD from VHS source, but still.. very watchable. Excellent sound, too.. I had a stack of old VHS tapes sitting on top of my subwoofer. The operative word being "had".. they fell off during the opening battle, from the vibrations.

At first, I was annoyed that they'd left the counter in place, but I think I prefer that to the blurred-out counters of some of the other releases. The blur changes from scene to scene, and the odd motion is enough to draw attention to it. Whereas the counter stays constant, never changing, and as a result it's easily ignored after the first couple of minutes.

Excellent release, I think. This one should hold me for quite a while.

is there any way of gettin rid of the clock at the top

i agree this is one of the best releases and its great picture and sound but would be better if that damn clock wasnt there!
